Why? When is it?

today.........
why in this country more celebrate paddys day than their own i will never understand.

Firstly - I'm an Atheist so why would I want to acknowledge a saint.

Secondly - if I did I'd rather celebrate with Guinness and Jameson's than Typhoo and PG Tips.

We had a street party. Many muslims were invited as they joined in this wonderful celebration of all things English. They were born in this country you see. I had halal burgers and chips, followed by spotted dick and a pint. A nice day was had by all in our multicultural but English street party. Danny Dyer - you'd have loved it mate.

No one calls it racist
When the daffodil's worn in Wales
Or is offended by their dragon

When St Patrick’s day comes round

The Irish are not treated
With insult or with scorn

If a Scotsman on St Andrew’s day

So when St George's Day arrives
We English men wont hide
For Elizabeth, England & St George
We’ll wear our Rose with pride

Sad - I'd forgotten - this country is going to the dogs...

Was in Wilkinson's in Preston on Wednesday where they were selling all things English and St George, flags hat, bunting etc. I overheard a middle aged woman ask a worker why there were so much England stuff up when the World Cup wasn't until June and that they need to rethink their selling strategy!

Sad times indeed.
