Thanks again RFL.... nothing you do now would suprise me! Makes you wonder why anyone would want to get involved in a club under SL level??? All credit to the Halifax board for standing their corner... but doubt anything would get done

I'm certain that the "homegrown" that the RFL referred to, are "homegrown" in the UK, not "homegrown" at Halifax RLFC. It would be great to have a predominantly Fax nurtured players, but most clubs are a million miles away from that.

Sounds obvious that you'd get at least 8 UK players, but not to the RFL who will allow anybody who's ever watched Eastenders.

Pennine League is full of Halifax lads who went to Super League clubs at an early age.

The RFL are a set of clueless muppets who do not care about the game below SL or have a clue about running and growing the game properly. Once again clubs in the Championship are wanting to run academy sides but the RFL have no intention of helping them! I suspect Barrow, Fev, Batley etc are all in the same boat as Fax. How are clubs supposed to bring through local players when they get absolutely no help from the RFL? And once again Fax lose another player to a SL team due to the RFL failing to run the game properly. No doubt other clubs who have youngsters are suffering similar loss of local players. Really makes my blood boil at how inept the RFL are.
The likes of Nigel Wood and Richard Lewis should be made to answer what they intend to do to help the Championshi Leagues. If the RFL have the finger on the pulse do we see Keighley, Gateshead and Doncaster in serious trouble in the past 6 months? What do the RFL intend to do to help the likes of Widnes, Fax, Barrow try and build for SL? What is the point of Batley, Rochdale, Workington, Hunslet continueing if the RFL are jsut going to support the favourites from Wales 6 France despite these clubs needing continued help and support from the RFL. If the RFL fail to change the way it runs things then a number of Championship teams will be gone in under 10 years!

My understanding of the system is that the term 'homegrown' means players are nurtured by the club as opposed to in the UK.
However clubs have to start somewhere and it appears that if you are from [ithe heartlands[/i then you are exempt from a favour or two .

Has it been agreed yet that the same criteria will apply for the SL applications in 2011 as was in place in 2008? I can see yet more goal posts being shifted!
