Hi Sean,
Thanks for the message. My recollection of that day is very vague, but what I do remember is knowing what I had done straight away. I don't know what went wrong in that tackle, but I knew straight away that something very bad had happened... I can't explain how.
However, all the support you guys up at Halifax gave me after my accident made coming to terms with what had happened to me an awful lot easier. I will never be able to thank you enough.
Thank you for your kind words with regards to how I'm getting on nowadays. I'm fortunate in the respect that I have a great family and bunch of friends who don't treat me any differently now than how they did before my accident which is how it should be.
After my accident in April 2004 I remained in hospital at the National Spinal Injuries Centre in Stoke Mandeville for nine months until my discharge one week before Christmas. Soon after I returned home, I started back at school studying my A-levels on a very part-time basis, and eventually passed them which enabled me to study Law at the University of Hertfordshire. I finished my degree earlier in the summer this year, and graduate on Friday with first-class honours -- it will be a great day, and hopefully my parents will be proud. They have done so much for me following my accident. I'm currently studying at university for my masters, and following the completion of the course I have accepted a job in London as a trainee solicitor which I cannot wait to start!
Anyway Sean, sorry for the essay but I just wanted to fill you in and thank you for all you have done for me. Please say hello to your son for me, and let him know I am doing okay.

I was there that day and will never forget what happened, I saw you make the tackle and like you say we knew it was bad staright away but we were not to know how bad until we saw you air lifted by the air ambulance.
