| With a fully fit team i fancy our chances, we'll take a big following to any ground we go and should be ready by the time the play offs come with having a month off.
Could be a little under done but i think we'll be okay.

Widnes are likely to finish 5th meaning having to win 3 away ties AND having to win the GF on top of that. I'd certainly want better odds than 4 to 1 if I was to gamble on that! Barrow's defeat against Gateshead was a real shocker, could they be bottling it? To be honest, I think the odds are fair-ish except IMO Widnes are too short and Sheffield are too long.

Aye, I think you're right. Widnes have proved time and again we can do it on one off occasions but, you would think 4 ties in a row all 'away' would be too tough - especially considering we've only beat Toulouse, Doncaster and Sheffield away in the league this season.
If it was all home games, we'd have a great chance - since losing to Barrow at home, we been pretty hot at home and handed pretty big defeats to Fax, Featherstone and Haven in the last few home games. If we can win a couple against say Haven and Sheffield, I think we'll do it, but just as likely that we'll go out early tbh.

i think your a pretty decent bet for some people.
i would say that it will be one of the most open play off competitions in years.
sheffeild are coming good at the right time.
haven are always tough to beat home and away.
widnes can never be ruled out especially with your big away support making it a level playing ground where ever you have to go.
Barrow are going to be tough to beat at home.
Halifax may have a couple of home games in the play offs which will help us get a decent crowd in and the best attack in the league judging by the league table and on paper.

I dont think that anyone will take Widnes for granted. If we avoid them i will be happy cos right now i think they have our measure. Could do with them getting KO`d right away so Fax can progress and hopefully do the business. We need a good performance on Saturday to get the confidence flowing

| Let's hope the bookies are on the ball re tomorrow's match .... William Hill make Sheffield hot favourites at 4/11, and have given Barra 8 points start on the handicap.

Worth getting on Barrow without the handicap just to ease the disapointment if they do win!

| 3 day turnround for Barrow, and away game as well.
I'd say Sheffield should be favourites, but whether they can win by a big enough margin for us is another matter.

| Sheffield's home form in the league this season .......
Sun 15th March H 15.00 Leigh Centurions L 22-23
Thu 9th April H 18.00 Doncaster RLFC L 22-23
Sun 26th April H 16.00 Widnes Vikings L 20-22
Sat 23rd May H 18.00 Toulouse Olympique W 58-12
Sat 13th June H 12.30 Whitehaven W 28-24
Fri 3rd July H 20.00 Batley Bulldogs W 30-4
Thu 23rd July H 19.30 Gateshead Thunder W 46-30
Thu 13th August H 20.00 Halifax RFLC W 38-24
Thu 27th August H 20.00 Featherstone Rovers W 28-12
..... 6 home wins on the bounce, 5 of which have deprived the opposition of bonus points. And look at their first 2 defeats! Their season seemed to turn around after they ran Hull KR close in the CC followed by beating us at the Shay (on 17/5/09).

This is SO crucial ...... it's gonna be hard for Barra to pick their bruised bodies up 3 days after a morale shattering defeat. Also bear in mind the Don Valley on an Autumn like rainy Thursday evening will be total alien to Barra's tight home surroundings. This CANNOT be set up any more in favour for Fax, it really can't.

| I think that spirits will be low in Barrow at the moment because BAE Systems is a big employer there, and the deal to release the lockerbie bomber may be seen as bad for business for them- as less military equipment could be expected demanded because, due to this decision, Lybian relations less likely volatile enough for us to go to war with Lybia
thats my explanation anyway
