It looked like his knee went to me as he tried to step away from Webster. The lad looked in a lot of pain and was offered gas and air.

I said at the time it looked a lot like govin's injury, and the reaction of the player indicated a knee injury. The same knee as he injured just a week ago i presume...

If it was completely unrelated, i like my words seasoned with aromatic spices and served with linguini and shrimp.

Totally brainless to have Miles playing tonight IMO. He was limping before the game then look what happened.

it doesn't take a rocket scientist to work out that type of injury takes more than a week to recover, plain idiotic what the f was the point in that!

How do you know it's cruciate damage ?

It was clear in the warm up that Miles wasn't right. Based on Callands comments about his loss on Friday night upsetting rotations etc. I was very surprised to see him start.

And then that happens....

I wish him a speedy recovery, certainly one of our better performers this season.

Did the club even get him checked out properly. Just because a player and a physio says hes ok to play dosnt always mean he is.
If it is crutiate then he may just be fit for the start of next season.

I have full confidence in the physio's, the coaching staff & the player himself, I'm sure they wouldn't have risked him if he wasn't fit to play, maybe this was a coincidence, a different injury, who knows.


Widnes on the other hand, was Duffy's jaw actually broken, he was certainly wearing head protection, now that was a gamble in such a car-crash natured sport, he got himself in a poor position when ( ahem ) attempting to tackle Robbo, he looked away with the fairies, hope he's ok for them he's a cracking player, but was his jaw broken ?

It may have been that he did his cruciate last week v Fev. Sometimes with a full clean tear of the cruciate there is less, or sometime no pain, compared to a partial tear.

He may well have trained ok, and on that basis, the player thinks he's ok to play and then you don't know until its too late. A slight turn or twist in a tackle and the knee's gone!

Not saying this is the case, but it happens!

As for Duffy....wammo! Looks like he could be on liquids for a while. As MM says, certainly a more obvious gamble than Miles. Hope its nothing too serious.

I went down to speak with Seanfax and Miles was definately carrying his leg when he broke into a jog during the drills...personally i think its a bizzare decision to make if he was`nt really ready.

Utterly stupid, you could see before hand he wasn't running right, the only more stupid decision was to play Duffy.
Were both gonna be in the play offs, why risk players like this.

I snapped a cruciate 20 years ago - I heard it as well as felt it, and can confirm that the pain is excrutiating...

From what I have heard Miles played against medical advise!! And the quote from Matt about everyone saying he is ok to play is not entirely accurate!!!
