Quote ="Brew"Interesting point on that thread about are Widnes planning on having an "Off" Season. Now they've "Ticked the Box" they could save themselves some pennies by running on a tighter budget for a year, and clear out some dead wood at the same time, then spend big and build up for a potential SL place the year after.'"
Does anyone else think that this sounds a daft idea?
Surely to build for a competitive team in SL you need a bit of continuity and build the team over a few years.
Also it would be in Widnes best interests now to try make every final and win the NRC every year to stop another team or rival getting there and stop them being allowed to apply for SL, cutting their rivals so to speak.. so having a "clear out" doesn't sound like the best idea to me.
