I'm sure the moderators won't mind me posting this on here.

I am helping out with the fundraising team for the Adam Watene fund and wondered if any Halifax fans would be interested in attending the Adam Watene tribute dinner which takes place on Friday 19th June at the Cedar Court Hotel in Wakefield.

It's a sportsmans dinner to celebrate the life of Adam who tragically died last October at just 31 years old. The price is £30 per person for a 3 course meal. There is a top class comic in Josh Daniels and Barrie McDermott is the guest speaker. I will be MC'ing the event.

There will be a dvd with tributes from some of Adam Watene's closest friends including Lesley Vainikolo and Willie Poching who will both be there on the night. The short film will be played on the big screen and there will be personal tributes paid in what promises to be an emotional evening.

There are some really nice auction items for sale including test shirts donated by Garry Schofield and Martin Offiah. There's also Ellery Hanley's signed shirt from dancing on ice as well as some other good stuff which has all been donated.

If anyone would like to attend then please express your interest and I will arrange a place for you.

I mentioned it after the game yesterday and there was quite a lot of interest - I think it would be a great gesture if Halifax fans supported this event as it's a very worthy cause. I also know that our very own Frank Watene (Adam's cousin) would be over the moon with our support.

Thanks to all you people who are coming on Friday night. We have 13 people attending from Halifax RLFC and it's great that you are getting behind such a worthwhile cause.
