Having bought my fax home shirt about 3 months ago now, and worn it very regularly, I have finally decided that it needs to be washed

however, my knowledge of washing is very limited, as i am a student.

i am terrified that if i use the wrong method the shirt may be ruined

any advice on how i can avoid this disaster? ie washing machine temperature etc

Don't agree. I've always argued that all these different options on a washing machine are completely unnecessary. I only ever use the letter "E" on my Hotpoint washing machine which is 40 degrees (non colourfast cotton). I tend to put dark colours in together, and whites separately. My advice would be to put your fax shirt in at 40 degrees with other stuff you're not scared of ruining (such as towels and bed sheets) which have themselves been washed many times before so they won't run and ruin your fax shirt.

I ave the Aquarius 1100 model, Marillion Man, purchased in the year 2000 from Direct Discounts near Halifax Swimming Pool. Great machine, always done the job and my whites are whiter than white!

Hmmmm .. the 1100 is very powerful ... it's pretty frightening when it's in full flow, sometimes I think it's gonna take off! As for detergent .. check the label, some fabrics "don't like it".

Mr Man, the higher spin speed of the 1500 while allowing the removal of more water and therefore reducing drying time will put clothing/washing at higher risk of damage caused by friction due to washing rubbing against to non rotating parts such as the viewing window.

As for washing detergent I can recommend Surf small and mighty with essential oils, using the 40 degree cycle. Brings em up a treat.

One warning though Styler, should you not be proficient with crease removal apparatus (i.e. an iron) get someone else to do your shirt on a low heat as you will melt it otherwise. A common problem with man made fibres.

true but unfortunately i live quite a distance away and so it would require me to mail it down etc, tempting but id have to go to the post office; a right ballache
thanks ill opt for the surf tablets next time
ironing is not a problem, i find it requires loads of effort for little reward, and i would therefore avoid it at all costs
