While saturdays game is still fresh in everyones mind, I feel the club may find it beneficial to capitalise on this by trying to keep the interest locked-in!

I for one think it may be a good idea to push for season ticket sales in the courier slightly discounted for the games missed so far, anyone agree?

As regards to the marketing side of life i have strong links with Phoenix FM and can produce advertisements for up and coming halifax games. I have been doing these since we hosted widnes at home! This could possibly boost numbers up ever so slightly. However listen this week in calderdale on 96.7FM or listen online at www.phoenixfm.co.uk.

Definitly!!!!!!!!!! I haven't got a season ticket but the amount I've splashed out on the gate makes me wish I had one.....

Me too, I wasnt sure how many games I'd get to this yea so didnt buy one, upto now I havn't missed a game (and all been well wont apart from Toulouse away)

I hear from a lot of "possible" supporters 2 different reasons why they don't come and watch.

the first is that they won't come until SL is played again in Halifax - well sod em, they will only come if we are in SL

and the second is the group who say that our league is too easy and they won't see a competititve match

Couldn't the club suggest and shame some of the possible supporters by suggesting they suffer from stereotypical "SL snobbery" by accusing they are missing out on the best value for money of rugby entertainment anywhere in west yorkshire at the moment. Surely there are enough quotations floating about that could be used for this style of promotion - we even got a big up in stevo's colume in the league express

What they really mean is they wont come until you are competing in SL , they would turn up for the 1 st couple of matches but if you lost them thyd just call you crap not to be seen again until you play Bradford

The 2 nd lot are just plain lazy buggers

What they both are is not true fans of the club and most likely never will be again

You need to bring in totally new fans without the ' baggage ' these ' life long

' supporters have

apologies it was meant to say 1/15 thousand games. is there any less serious fax forum around? as im a relatively new fan and not an expert i feel out of place on this one

I don`t think anyones being patronising or insulting most people are not privvy to how hard such as Mike Riley and Graham Clay work and what a superb job they do.It sounds to me like a very genuine bunch of supporters who just want to try and help the club out the best they can.Sometimes some people do come up with origional good ideas and the club I am sure would take them on board. As the originator of the post seems to be a relativly new supporter I think he and anyone else should be encouraged rather than called "insulting or patronising" as it`s attitudes like that (in the distant past thank goodness) that have lost our club supporters.
So anyone with any good ideas please keep posting them as even the Supporters Trust like to see them as in the past we have picked up one or two good ideas from here . Thank you all.

Yes, according to Baldrick it's like goldy or bronzey only made of iron.

Maybe try a half season ticket which will include priority for tickets for any Cup Finals that we may get to (very likely I believe and wish for).
After Sunday we still have 5 home league games which is exactly half of our home league games plus we still have Barrow, Fev and Toulouse to come who will be in the top 5 imo plus Whitehaven and Leigh. Plus it locks them in even if they don't get to a game which happens.
To attract fans to the less attractive games (no offence to those clubs) have bring a mate for a Fiver again or just pay a Fiver on the day?
We need to get new fans, the ones who used to come are too negative and will walk away the first sign we are not playing red hot or lose(hopefully this won't happen).

Agreed. We are all here for the one cause at the end of the day. I would like to think that the club listen to fans and take on board what they say or think whether or not it is practical to use an idea or not.

Is the bar open on a Thursday night with the match on? Or a Friday/Saturday with SL for that matter?

I started a marketing thread not long ago and then e-mailed the ideas to the club.

The main issue raised from the club seemed to be that current fans moaned last year when promotions were done for new fans (i was suggesting half price tickets for anyone coming who has another season ticket from another club) I personally didn't think any current fans would mind such a promotion as its something anyone could qualify for if they have another season ticket...its not the same as selling a Halifax season ticket for £130 one week and a £100 the next as I can see what that might upset people.

I do think there are new fans out there to be attracted. I remember the season we went to Hull KR (the year they beat us with a ridiculous score) and speaking to some of their fans and they said the club had won some fantastic big sponsorship deals and encouraged a lot of new fans from marketing and being pro active. Bare in mind there are two teams in Hull as well.

Things that they could look at is what the Americans do, they are marketing gods really:

Next season you could do something like

When you buy a shirt you receive a voucher that can be redeemed on a ticket for a home fixture (say £4 off or half price or something like). Even if you are a season ticket holder you could introduce a new person to the game by encouraging them to come down then with this offer.

That person might then bring their kids and so on. They may just get hooked on Halifax Rugby.

However it's a promo without giving too much away. That's the key.

Think more down those lines. I'll think of some others i've seen too and post here.
