Great season ahead Fax, Widnes, Fev, Haven, Barrow, Leigh will all take points off each othe, injuries will play a big part.
Fax have great creative players who can be injury prone but still look to have frailities in the front row.
Widnes will be ok but need some power up front to get goos teams on the back foot.
Great year ahead without any clubs having a distinct financial advantage.

big frank who played for about 22 mins in total and made no impact seems to have gone backwards on his form of last year

Having watched the re run i can safely saw our front row was awesome last night. I though Wilson had his best game for us taking the ball up twice in some sets and defending strongly. Cherryholme was outstanding making good yards up the middle and cant remember him missing a tackle. Tamghart enough said this guy is just a monster we visibly lift when him and big Frank come off the bench. The pace caught up with Frankie but what he did when he was on the pitch was excellent and even when he was visibly blown up he was still running his blood to water.
Matt James or anyone will have to work hard to gain a place in the team on that performance

Funny when Phil Clarke was almost speechless about Worrincys arms. "The guns.....the size of the arms......."



People dont know what they are missing. We have so many Fan Favorites this season and so many willing to get stuck in and do the hard work. The exciting thing is we are only going to get better.

He's playing even better than last year, he wasn't outstanding last night but I thought our other 3 props were quality. Plus when Matt James is fit our front row is miles ahead of were it was last year.

He appeared to have picked up a calf injury. Was certainly stretching it out on the sidelines.

As for his form this year.... turn it in!! you've based this on last nights tv game alone I take it?

He's been one of our start men this year, putting in big shifts on the park, dominating both in attack & defence. Care to read the reve reviews about him on here or in the paper if you dont believe me.

Frank has been a far better player this season than last, Didnt do a whole lot last night due to the full time widnes team been on him quicker than what other teams have been.

maybe if it was a 4 hr trip you would, thats why ged played most of the U21 team, that in itself cost us qualification

always rated watene was due to join haven from dews at one point about 4 years ago but it fell through

I think the Widnes team been full time were getting up a lot quicker to defend, which meant by time he got running there were tacklers on him.

Not his best performance this year, but he has been a fantastic player upto now and I don't think one match not playing at the level he has been will worry him or anyone else.

your above us in the league cause in your first match you didnt play the koint title favourates when you play widnes and most probably lose to them and if you win you can say told you so but you dint have a lot to cope with fax and widnes bar that home hoodoo you seem to have on us.

what slumps that

First up, I thought Fax were by far the best team and totally dominated the Widnes pack. However, many clubs this year will dominate their pack which is far too small for this league.

The good thing for opposition fans is that Fax made far too many errors and almost gifted Widnes an undeserved win. A more potent attack would have scored more points. Widnes were the same at Barrow in the NR Cup. Our forwards (I'm a Barrow fan) bashed them all over the park and when they had umpteen sets on our line, they couldn't cross.

Worrincy looked good, but to be fair he wasn't really put under any pressure. Should be a cracker at Craven Park on Saturday (6:30pm) and Warrincy is certainly one we'll have to watch.

Are there many Fax fans making the trip?

There's a coach running which was filling up quick, me my missus and 2 others stopping overnight. Quite a few going in cars so should be a decent turnout.

should hopefully be quite a few going up. it's not like we've got to be up early for a 6:30 pm K/O, and most people will have the following day off.

Should be a good test for both teams, a lot more even than the NRC.

Have a good trip up and buy a few pints in the Raiders Bar inside the ground.

I think you'll see a different Barrow performance from the one at The Shay in te NR Cup. We had a few missing that day and the higher standard took a few by surprise. By all accounts, the team had their fortunes read by the coach and things have been on the up since then.

Zeb Luisi landed in the UK today and is poised to go straight into Saturday's squad. It's also rumoured that Ned Catic could also be in the UK by then, but I think Saturday's match might just be too soon after a 24hr plane journey.

Will he have had enough time though to get to know his team mates & the relevant moves/plays?

Even taking into account that you had a few missing, Id be pretty upset if we didnt come away from Craven Park without the 3pts

Granted, Luisi will have only had a couple of training sessions, but he's a top class player and should slot-in pretty comfortably - maybe on the wing to begin with.

Regarding the match and result, you can completely forget our performance at your place. That was the wake up call the players needed and thankfully they got it very early in the season - and have heeded it.

There's no way you're going to push our pack around the way you did Widnes - especially at Craven Park. You'll also find that we have a lot of fire power in the centres and a lot of pace on the wings and in the halves. Behind all that is Broadbent at fullback, who very rarely puts a foot wrong.

There's no doubt you'll go into the match as favourites, but if you play like you did against Widnes, we'll score more points than they did.
