If the in-goal area had been two inches bigger, this thread might have had a completely different feel to it. This was right in front of me, and my first reaction was "try". If not on Sky, I think it would probably have been given. Winning at half-time, and then scoring first in the second may have resulted in a completely different outcome. Sport's a fickle old thing - that's why we love it so much!

I don't think Fev are that good a side, they simply wanted it more than us. In the Second Half after the Paterson no try we looked flat and pedestrian and Fev stepped up a gear with Dickens, Grayshon and that dirty get Tonks laying on a great platform for Finn and Kain to do their business. Most teams would have beaten us the way we performed in that second half.

We desperately missed a half back tonight, Danny Jones was playing Centre for some strange reason, coming in on crash balls from Black. I hasten to add if Holroyd had been playing he would have played a lot more simpler game to wrap up the points.

Hopefully its a kick up the backside we need, we lost three times to Fev last year and look what happened? Plenty of time to build and improve, but the table doesn't make pleasant viewing.

true, we weren't at our best on Thursday, though I thought we were very effective in attack and more so defence, once Heppy came on. If we had been upto speed and had players who were fully fit playing (instead of coming back a bit too early out of necessity), I think the score may have been greater. Who knows?
However, I'm happy to carry on watching my team that "aren't that good"!!

Fev are an average side who normally would be around 5th place. But they have probably the best British Coach in the game and he is what makes Featherstone such a good side. He knows what is needed and can change the team to suit. Powell is a Quality coach and its only a matter of time before he coaches in SL. Fev fans enjoy it while you can.

Like I said, I have kept reading how average we are. I've kind of got used to it. Since Daryl arrived, there has been a change in recruitment, a few bob made available by an ambitious and astute BoD and some decent youth coming through.
I'm not denying Daryl hasn't made a massive impact at the club, but to suggest that we 'enjoy it whilst we can' cos when Daryl goes it'll all go down the tubes is somewhat farcical. We have a decent squad who won't run away with the league this year, but will be thereabouts come the end of Aug and as you know only too well, being "thereabouts" is all you need at that stage. You can't make a silk purse out of a cows @r_se! A quality coach still needs quality players OR bottom play off is the best you can expect.

Average?? Aye, if you like.

Fev are not average, they have the best Thinking half back in the league IMO in Finn. The front rowers are tough as hell and will hammer you all day long.

Halifax were good in patches on Thursday and we still have a looooong way to go.

We were average or not too good all last season as well and in most matches we were so lucky and had the ref on our side or the opoosition had just come back from France. Some of the opoosition had off days when we met them; Hope we have a similiar season

Although.......... now this worrying, but in some senses it came off, picking 2 fullbacks, risky, someones playing out of position, unless one gets injured, and the pack only looks 60% there with its rotation, i saw too much of the same man taking 1st and 3rd tackles, followed by a bomb, or a daft missed man cut out pass, smacks of disorganisation. No momentum, until Bob's run.
