Its a joke that an amateur cup final is being played at Wembley, in front of an empty stadium. It might see a few not to turn up for the Oldham game, but I bet you would still see a decent crowd. Is this Final on TV? Just play later in the day if need be. Friday night is not a great night to play, especially for fans who have to travel from other side of Leeds or Manchester.

I don't know if it's on TV, but get real, this is a recognised cup final event (the FA Vase is played on the same day at Wembley) and what would Fax give to be in another final?

Sunday evening maybe for Fax, albeit anyone who travels to Wembley wouldn't be back in time? FCHT still need to complete the job, but at 4-2 up after the away leg they're well on the way.

As I've said before, we should ALL (FCHT fans take heed) support anything that aligns with the borough of Halifax.

Why? I, like a number of people have no interest in the Pubteam or Football. Its a joke competition, that sees a final at Wembley. Its like the Rugby League Comp that is for the National 1 teams and a couple of amateur teams. Least the Rugby final is played at a venue that fits its status. 15K, maybe 20K, watching in Wembley will see an atmosphere like a graveyard. Good on the Pubteam getting to a final. But its still a pubteam standard comp.

Most Shay Volunteers, ie. Turnstiles, stewards, programme sellers etc. are going to Wembley.
Can't operate a stadium with makeshift staff. Game needs moving to a Friday defo. Preferably Thursday for the full weekend

I would think moving the game to a Thursday night would hit the speccy ` numbers anyway and I didn`t know that turnstile operaters and stewards were volunteers I thought they got paid . I would hate our Club to be pushed into doing something that makes them worse off , I wouldn`t want it changing to be honest as it suits me fine and I`ll volunteer on the day to sell programmes if they need volunteers I along with others have done it before. Surely the descision the Directors have to make should be based on what is in the best interest of the rugby club and based on that if they decide to move the date /time then so be it but Thursday night would be poor , hospitality alone would lose out .

That's their choice, I'm sure the players would welcome 3 or 4 days LESS rest before the Oldam game.

Not to mention the fact that both Fax and Oldham are a part time team , so they are expected to work a full day then dash up to the Shay to play a game of rugby .

Not really worth moving the game as you would probably get similar crowds if it were moved to the Friday, there will be people who wont be able to make that and I would imagine it might be the same sort of number that will go and watch Town at Wembley.

How many turnstiles do we have open on game day? I mean I know at least 3 of the regular turnstile operators and theres not a chance they will be going to Wembley.

For me the obvious solution is to play on the Saturday at 3pm. Players don't have to work a full day beforehand & get 6 days rest. Club doesn't lose out as most fans going to Wembley will be going down on the day plus the only football being played is the FA Cup Final in the evening.
I realise a few people do work on Saturdays but if announced today/tomorrow they have two months to book time off.

As sad as it is the FA Cup final would probably take more off the gate than our own football team playing at Wembley. Sad times.

Reality check is the gate would be significantly reduced if played on sun whatever some may think!! sat would have to be best option regarding two part timers and maybe this game do a initiative to try and get as many as possible down theres plenty of time between now and then

How? It now kicks off at 5:30-ish. If we kick of at 3pm it gives plenty of time to get to pub unless we have a load of West Ham/Crystal Palace/Watford fans

I hope commonsense prevails and the Oldham game is switched to a different date, preferably 24 hours earlier. To play the game at the same time as a Wembley final would be crass. Apart from the odd numpty on either side there's a vast number of people who follow both games and teams, just from the odd brief conversations I've had already there's a number of Fax supporters heading down on the 22nd.....myself included.

In my very humble opinion, for what it's worth I think our game should be moved.
I think a lot of the reasons some of us have a down on the football club is because of the numpties on their forum who can't forgive us for being successful.
Some of our supporters are also Town fans and for them and the few other reasonable supporters this is a great day.
It wouldn't hurt to move our fixture if Oldham agree.

The point to me is that most of the volunteers don't pay to get in , the people on the gates might get paid, a lot of the supporters have season tickets so they will be included in the attendance. So lets see what the figures for the game are and if they are so dire as what is being talked about, the club could allways move the game the next time the pub team get to Wembley.

I`m not sure what the Club will decide to do about this fixture but whatever they come up with should be decided by what is best for our Club . They need to take into consideration several things and I hope they ignore all ridiculous suggestions of Thur` / Fri` night kick offs which means we lose people on the gate anyway and part time players working and then playing .
Also they need to consider the Oldham Club and their supporters why should they be messed about as I don`t think they would give two hooks about Halifax FC being at Wembley .
I also don`t want it moving to a Sat` as I do other things on a Saturday and only would want to swop my arrangments for something important to our Club and to me this does not fall into that category .
Most of the people who work at the stadium on match days as far as I am aware are not volunteers they are paid and if any Fax fans wish to follow the Town to London then of course they are perfectly at liberty to do so . Does every one not think that by moving the match to a differant time a similar number will not be missing anyway simply because it`s been switched it`s just not fair on the majority of Fax and Oldham fans .
However if the Rugby Club decide it is going to be a major problem and that the match needs moving I will be there supporting but some may not be able to do so .

Then with respect, why are they so bitter?

Not sure i should be going down this road but this is what i get slated for from Town fans and is not necessarilly my opinion too.
1.Money promised towards shay in 1998 used to pay off directors and tax instead.
2.Didn't allow football to play at Thrum Hall in 80s citing old legislation at a time when it could have been all that saved them.
3.Claiming no knowledge of TAs shay bid
4.A real crassness in paying debts,particularly the rent saga.
5.refusing to pay towards the extendable players tunnell,then asking to use it.
6.refusing to pay for pitch improvements yet being seen as wrecking it with pointless friendlies.

I am thinking of Fax as if the club do not move the game then the crowd will be a lot lower as there will be a lot of people off to Wembley = fact or if not the game is likely to be on TV.
I accept that Friday night may not be best for two part time clubs but was thinking about our poor crowds on Saturdays although it could work as a 'double header' for fans to be able to watch Fax then go to Wembley on Sunday plus although its footy it is FA Cup Final day and that usually kicks off at teatime these days so sports fans could watch both.
I also think we should show some solidarity for once and move our game to show our support to FCHT even if they don't care about us at least Fax will be on the 'higher moral ground'.

I don't think anyone is stopping people going to the game, get your prioreties and go to which game YOU think is most important. Nobody will think any less of you. But a lot of fans that cannot go to the re-arranged might.

At the end of the day if we want to mo e the fixture of FC/RL Halifax fans we can only put the suggestion to the RFL. If Oldham don't want to change and the RFL don't sanction it then it won't happen. It isn't jaunt down to our clubs decision. I hope FC Halifax Town won at Wembly and also stay in the nation conference league
