I'd class myself as "Hardcore" but I didn't stop. I don't know why, I always stop and clap my team off win, lose or draw. Something inside of me today just wanted to get the hell out of there at the end. It hasn't even dawned on me until it's just got raised tho.

| Why was there very liitle crowd behind posts at opposite end?
Who had those seats allocated?
Overall thought Fax were the most vocal and out numbered Barra supporters.

| Really proud of everyone today.
It was never a high tackle by Chezza, the Barrow player slipped,
Dont think Chezza has off loaded this season, shame happened today, but overall had a good game.
Broadbent's puch on Gov when he scored was uncalled for, Broadbent wasnt commited to the tackle. He's a dirty little git, but what a great full back.
Patts had his worse game for us (kicking wise) but he's won us more games than he's lost so no blame can be apportioned.
God knows how Barrow had a bunch of seats in the middle of the North stand in the Fax fans.
Overall, simply a stunning season & proud to wear the blue & white, nothing to be sorry about today.

| First of all, Said didn't make a mistake, the ball was punched out by the 2nd Barrow defender entering the tackle, it was a ref's error and judging by the amount of replays Sky were showing of it at the ground they thought so too.
On the day we were beaten by a side that in terms of players were no better than we were, they just got away with their mistakes more than we did. So well done Barrow, you had the rub of the green today, for the neutral it was a great game, I enjoyed most of it to be fair.
I was disappointed by those doing the Wigan walk too but if they turn up next year I'll forgive em
Finally if Mick Govin doesn't get a contract for next year there is something seriously wrong.

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity
Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike
SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!:9005.jpg |

Gov was taking the ball a long way in the ' in goal ' , and when you do that you leave yourself open for the type of challenge Broadbent made , nothing wrong with it , youd have been happy for one of yours to have done the same
You were right however about the Barrow player slipping into the so called high tackle that resulted in the penalty and then the try

| I truly love fax to bits and was one of those fans who left early but had to help a fellow fan who was injured recently to safety before it got crowded and proved a struggle to get out. I do too always stay behind to congratulate the team on a job well done.
However on a serious note I was astonished to read in the courier that there was over 3000 of us lot going to the GF to witness halifax's extreme point in the season!
My point that i would like to make to these fans who came out of nowhere who made it today is now is the time to make fax shine for the next season and get behind the team for good! We are bringing in these new players (Papa New Guinea duo for short) and resigning the core of the rest of our team.
Come on everyone... Let's look forward to the new season and be proud of who we are!

there are always people who crawl out og the woodwork for big final games.
you can bet your bottom dollar though that they wont be there at the start of next season.
i recall an incident in football when Halifax Town got to the conference play off final at leicester and the 1500 corr supporters were amazingly joined by nearlly 9,000 other supporters who came from nowhere.
the start of the next season the crowd had raised by 200 at most.
i was glad to see the support but i can bet now that the crowd will be back down to the same as this season for the first game next year.

It makes me laugh when I've read some of your posts criticising the likes of Haighy as being "miserable", but you must be one of the most negative miserable gets on here by a country mile. Didn't look like winning? Jeez, I'm so glad you're not my mate.

I'm absolutely not a miserable get Tony and am normally very positive and clappy. I was in a bad mood by the end of the game yesterday and after watching it on TV I don't feel much better today. We were suberb for the first half hour and could have been out of sight. Barrow dug in, came good, and as a life long fax fan I'm gutted. Look at some of Lewis' photo's of the players at the end of the game hugging parents, wives and girlfriends. They looked pretty gutted too. Grow up

| I'm extremely proud of the players last night, it was a fantastic effort. It is grossly unfair to blame Patterson's kicking performance, most of his kicks were from the sidelne and the only realy 'easy' one was where the Barrow player was playing Yawnion in trying to charge down the kick.
It was the same story though, we didn't get stuck into Rooney half as much as we should have done, although it was an improvement from the Craven Park debacle.
Mick Govin was oustanding and should definitely be given a contract and 6 shirt for next year. Just showed how close a game it was that the official MOM was from the losing side.
We'll be back next year, stronger and much better off for the experience.

Disagree we had many chances to win it both Goalkicking and try wise. But for me the player who changed the game was Broadbent who was my MoM. He never knocked on and when he stopped Gleeson that for me was the major incident which won it for Barrow. Had Gleeson scored it was curtains for Barrow. We never gave in but we simply just did not take the chances and we had enough. I never felt like we would lose until the final try. I always think Fax can just create a try from nothing-sadly this game we just failed. We never let ourselves down today as Barrow was favourites and they have money to burn compared to us.

Very rich coming from someone who enjoys playground "jokes" about folk who have just died! Anyway, I'm not arguing OFF, so leave it.
On reflection I certainly thought we were the better team, and at 10 nil up we should have killed them off. But they got a couple of game breaking decisions from the ref which sealed it. It's nice to see little clubs do well (aka Wimbledon in the late 90s in soccer) but for the credibilty of the franchice applications in a couple of years time it would be nice to see Halifax and Widnes at the forefront, possibily replacing Castleford and Wakefield.
