I am really dissapointed at Dewsbury's stance on this.

OK, so they cant move the game to Saturday or Sunday morning due to other events, but they could play this at 7PM on Sunday, or even do it at 7:30 on Monday, this would give them a better gate than sticking with the 3PM kick off time.

I am not a big football watcher, but England is in the last 16 of the biggest competition in the world, against our arch rivals. This is surely a "must-see" event and the only loosers will be Dewsbury.

Thankfully it will not affect Halifax financially.

I wont be going to Dewsbury then come on England.

IMO Dewsbury appear very short sighted. I will be going regardless but i feel they should at least consider their options at length. An evening KO wouldnt be a problem unless the Dewsbury board know otherwise. Basically this is going to hit them big style in the pocket if they dont change the time or date.

Hang on a minute. I'm only guessing here but has it not crossed anyone's mind that the club has looked at possible changes. I honestly believe that had there been a more financial or or viable solution to not clashing with the round ball game then we as a club would have implemented it. As a RL supporter I don't have any difficulty in choosing where I'd rather be, quite frankly the group games England have played have bored me to tears!

Big shame. Was looking forward to the Dewsbury game as it's just up the road from where I now live, but I am afraid that the once in a blue moon posibility of putting one over the Germans will mean I shall not be attending the game. Sadly also think a lot of Dewsbury fans will think the same. Can't see a crowd of more than about 650 attending. Did you see the roads on Wednesday @ 3.05pm??

I'll be going, regardless of whether there's footie match on or not. I will be interested in the score, but it's RL over football every time for me.

Perhaps with all the other clubs altering kick off times Dewsbury thought they would be the main match on radio weeds (or are Yorkshire CCC playing on Sunday)

I bet you are right, Dewsbury will lose a lot of money that they would have made after making this stupid decision, it is their ground so after the car boot sale they could have played at 6pm end of story or even Saturday afternoon, but no lets stick to 3pm and get half the crowd (at least) they would have got, their loss.

It will be front and back page headlines in every newspaper the following day, so in theory you'll have missed nothing by going to Dewsbury. We're giving Dewsbury loads of grief, but I heard the full story in the pub last night.
The Dewsbury directors would have loved not to clash with the England game and did all they could for it not to happen. Clearly it was not an option to move the game to 6pm. After spending the morning behind a tressle table in the car partk the Directors were entitled to their pre-match pie and peas.
The only option was to move the England game. They phoned FIFA and spoke to Sepp Blatter and asked him to move the England game. Unfortunately Mrs Blatter is a huge German fan and wanted to see the game. As she goes to Bingo on a Sunday night, it clearly wasn't an option.
So, lets put the blame where it belongs. It's FIFA's fault, not Dewsbury's.

Now that the Crusaders (a [size=200Welsh[/sizeteam) have moved their game it seems that there are only two games going ahead at 3PM on Sunday.

These are Swinton and Dewsbury.

I dont know what is going on at Swinton, but come on Dewsbury, move the damn game to either Sunday or Monday evening.

Swinton have now moved their start time. This now leaves Dewsbury on their own, as the only team, probably in the whole country, that will be playing at the same time England are playing.

now IF there are some clever marketears at Dewsbury, they should promote the fact that they are the only rugby game on sunday at 3 pm and just maybe they may be able to get 50 people through the turn styles!

i have supported fax home and away for years now, made careful holiday plans, missed family do's, got wet, cold, sunburnt, even got so daft a few years ago used to go to second team games home and AWAY!

however 3pm Sunday i wil be watching ENGLAND V Germany. as will an overwhelming number of the english population, a handfull of people will choose not to, fine, no issue there from me.

however - Dewsbury - wake up - smarten up - move the dam game
