Losing patience with "he's only a new coach learning his trade etc." what about Dave Clark, he's had to face demotion to assitant and then had to pick things up again. His team were better prepared, more up for it and tacticlly miles ahead of us.

Lets face it - 2 years on the trot we have peaked at the beginning of the season. Or should we face the real facts, we get away with it at the beginning of the season when other teams are still working on their fitness and shape. As soon as the bsuiness end arrives we aint up to it.

No stand off - don't need one says the coach, we've got enough ball players who can fit in. so we'll have 4 hookers in stead. but then which one of them actually plays at dummy half, its hard to tell sometimes, but no the coach said that doesn't matter, we have all these ball players and anyone of them can go to dummy half. yes these are things he said early in the season. but you can't go on playing off the cuff football with no structure and players drifitng out of position all the time.

Penky did have another shocker so did beswick but its the coach who has put penky at half back and ruined his game this year. Him and Glees rotating at hooker is such an obvious one for me. As for beswick i never know where he's playing, when he's meant to be stand off or loose forward, he still seems to end up in the middle at dummy half.

And absolutley no motivation. like others have said, if you can't get up for a game like this then......

It's all about confidence i'm afraid i've we've run out of it. We've hit the wall. The players still have the skills and ability but we need to instill some self belief but time is running out. As for sacking Calland? Who are we - Newcastle United?

People get off colour or I do because of the passion I have for the club mixed with a desire to do well. We talk the talk as a club but somehow never deliver. That is worrying. I admit it we still have a chance, on that performance tonigh though would you put your house on it because I ceretainly wouldn't.

RL is a momentum game. The effort we showed tonight was excellent. We got a couple of early bad calls and they got piggybacked down the field. Barrow are a very good team with some excellent players. If they get a roll on it's hard to stop. If they don't and we get a roll on, then we're hard to stop. Why is that so difficult to understand?

We could have got back in at 15-6, but desperation passing which didn't come off and they were away. And we were fighting at 9-0 but they got a lucky interception.

It's just the way it is. Calland out? God give me strength. I could ******* swear sometimes.

if barrow had taken all their chances it could have been 50+. We weren't in it and the fact we got back to 9 points was nothing to do with our performance.

So what the hell, smith, we got tubbed, that's life. The whinos lost at home to Salford, saints to cats ... I could reel off a whole load of crap performances by every team in the flaming sporting world ... Man U at Burnley. If you can't hack defeat then take up knitting or summat and stop bleeding whinge whinge whinging.

That's their fault for not taking their chances.......


They got the rewards of a home fixture for finishing higher than us, next week is our turn.

If it was a one off you would have a point. But when was the last good performance you saw from us? There is something worrying about the manner of the defeat tonight for me.

All are mostly one off defeats which is easier to accept if you see an improvement the week(s) after. Us fans are fickle. Im bemoaning our lack of effort, what is so wrong with that? - We were not just thumped tonight but I feel embarrased by Barrow. Thats not acceptable but I'll still turn up next week. The do-gooders on this board really dislike differing opinions and that is sad. We all have a point to get across and its all passion just communicated differently. But certain elements on here appear to be saying if you contribute negatively sod off our site!! Come on flower give me a smile

I thought being a good supporter was getting behind the team when we hit a bad patch. If Calland or the players were crap then what went before the bad patch wouldn't have happened. So they aren't crap, and whatever has happened then I'm sure they're working hard at it to resolve it. The last thing they want is getting barracked for going thru a lean spell.

Sorry guys, I think we’ve missed a trick here.
To get in the big game mood last night I watched Fax v Widnes from earlier in the season. 17 men played their hearts and souls out. Tonight the same team (give or take) played like a bunch of under 7’s learning the game, but with a lot less enthusiasm.

We should take a leaf out of Barra’s book.

Move Matt to no 2 & bring in a top name to finish the season off on a high, winning next Thurs & again on the 4th of Oct. Then sack the top name and bring Matt back for next season.
Then halfway through next season move Matt to No 2 again (a bit sooner than with 2 games to go please) and bring in a top name again to win us the League, Cup & GF.
That way we all win & Matt gets the experience everyone says he needs.

Just to explain seeing as emotions are running a little bit high on the scale tonight…..The above is tongue in cheek!

then poor inteception
got back in game and unlucky not to score through smith.
they went up other end and scored.
they were better team on the night and won

And that is a ironic condradiction in itself ... the do badders appear the same! All I'm saying is FFS I could understand the frustration if we had a good team and we finished mid table, but we finished 2nd and that result tonight flattered Barrow. They have a bluddy good team ... that forward, Ned Catic, he's a bluddy monster (did he play NRL). The effort WAS there, had the rub gone our way it would have been us in the driving seat. I really think the doomers are over reacted, had we not thrown the ball about in the last 15 and only lost 15-6 would that have been OK? It's now time to get behind the team, if I was a player and read the tripe on here tonight after busting a gut I'd feel like telling you all to sod off.

For what it's worth I don't think there was any lack of effort - don't think that has been an issue throughout our "lean spell"

Sheffield showed the rest of the league how to beat us in May and since then every team except Leigh, Donny and Toulouse has done just that. It isn't hard - complete your sets and control the ruck and you will deny Fax any space to get moving - simples!

Our play is too predictable and easy to read and our defence is just a shambles. Tonight we couldn't get our line right and the markers were constantly caught short wich allowed Barrow the space to play the ball quickly and make quick ground. Their attack near our line was fast and fluid in contrast to ours which was slow and unimaginative.

We play "off the cuff" but the problem is that the players don't know what their job is from one week to the next. God knows what they do in training but it isn't structured to any end result.

Losing to a better side isn't the issue for me - that goes with being a Fax fan.

The manner of the defeat and the fact that we have learned nothing at all in the last two months does. Does anyone really think it will suddenly all be alright next week and even if it is can you see us improving enough to beat Barrow in the final? Yes, Barrow are a good side.....one that we have beaten three times this season but we were nowhere near them tonight. Our coaching staff had no idea how to change things after plan A failed.

Six defeats in eight over a season would give us a maximum of 8 wins which would get us relegated - don't assume it couldn't happen - ask Leigh.

If we have Super League aspirations then there is no room for sentiment. We have made no progress this year - finishing one place higher when two teams have moved up and failing to reach a final is not progress.

We all want to beat whoever next week but with no game plan, a coach who isn't up to the big games, the wrong players on the pitch and a complete confidence breakdown it's highly unlikely to say the least

I hope I am proved wrong and I will be there doing my bit next week but when a team with as much quallity as ours is peforming so badly week in week out then someone has to take responsibility.
