| Happy with that welcome on-board and welcome back Richard. Good luck we know it will take time to change things but we are prepared for a season of transition, as long as we improve how we play and are competitive then fine by me.
I thought the club statement was very good and was on the button, we now have a young coach with an excellent pedigree after years under one of the best and most professional coaches there is at Warrington.

Come on Charlie old chum we haven't heard from you for a while, don't let the killjoys get to you.
What is your opinion on this latest news?'"
I'm not so sure Charlie feels so welcome on Faxfans judging by the PM I received from him early last week JD.
Back on topic before i hear the keys of a locked thread a jangling:
A very good appointment by the b.o.d. in my opinion. Credit to them, they acted after much negativity from the support, some justified, some uncalled for but they're running the club so they had to do something at some point. Richard has had a very good grounding at Warrington where, amongst all those world class stars in their senior squad they manage nowadays to filter some of their long-time juniors through to senior grade. I am certain that Richard will be able to attract players of a decent calibre to our club, maybe not immediately but given a three year term is a fair opportunity. I understand there was a lot of interest in this vacancy and some top drawer names in there too so well done to him on getting the job.
I do fear for the level of competition within next season's league but time will tell. At last some good news.
Good luck Richard Marshall.

| MM said "I do fear for the level of competition within next season's league but time will tell. At last some good news.

Me too MM, probably a league within a league with some blow out scores in and amongst but some cracking games as well.
For Fax this may help as we will not be one of the favourite favourites in many peoples eyes including our own which could work in our favour.
I think this will lift the pressure of expectancy from what it has been over the last few years allowing us to play with a bit more freedom and get back to being the dangerous no one wants to play against Fax of old where we claim a few scalps instead of it being ours left hanging.
All adds to being a completely different comp next year, as before, can't wait.

| Faxcar's post makes a really good point. If you look at when Fax have done the business, they have always been underdogs and seem to prefer that rather than the pressures of being favourites which we just don't seem to cope with that very well at all. Our body language at times this year was shocking and looked as they we had the weight of the world on our shoulders due to the pressure. I can't see that happening next year as the pressure will almost certainly be on Bradford/London/Leigh/Fev then the bookies will have us amongst Dewsbury/Sheffield Donny etc.
I wish Richard Marshall all the luck in the world and hope we can see some entertaining rugby once again in the blue and white.Win,lose or draw. Please be patient !

Back in May I posted on this very forum how it is almost impossible to have an ' equal ' shareholding at a club, and that eventually one will rise above the rest and some will leave
Its just the way it is

| I have thought long and hard about making my first post on this forum.
Previously I have crossed swords(on another media) with some of the ‘favourite’ posters and been derided for my thoughts.
It is some years since I have been a regular visitor to see ‘Fax play live games, and also can only view the;’Fax games when posted on a media web site.
Whilst being a regular guest on here, I feel it’s time I had my pennyworth.
To be brutally honest when R M played for the ‘Fax I was not an ardent admirer, and when he left it felt like he was chasing the pay day..
In my humble opinion I thought he was a journeyman in his playing days, however it seems he settled at ‘wilderspool’ and has learned his craft quietly and seemingly successfully, I am sure ‘Fax’s gain is the Wires loss.
Here’s wishing him and ‘Fax success in the immediate and long term future, we all know it won’t be easy, but as others have said let’s give him the backing and time for the wheel to turn in our favour again.
I hope I am welcomed as I am a genuine fan (cannot claim to be a supporter as I don’t pay at the gate) of both ‘Fax and Town and like to see them both doing the name of Halifax proud..
