You are the one who is ignorant pal, yer okay I got Mr Wilkinson's first name wrong but you slag a guy off who was MR SALFORD for donkey years sticking with you through thick and thin basically keeping the club going, second a Council would need to justify why it would sell a stadium built for the COMMUNITY (the clue is in the title) as PUBLIC money has subsidised its construction so Salford council tax payers might not be happy that an individual who owns some racehorses might take it over, you have to justify the sale as you cannot just 'give it away' cos Salford RFLC's new owner wants it.'"
I didn't call him mr Salford that was a select few people/friends in the media, the guy if anything mismanaged our club for 30 years, just ask Nigel wood and marwan Kaukash who were said to be horrified when they saw the state the club were in. And il say it again that stadium was meant for Salford the club spent the best part of 15 years looking at the possibility of a new stadium, the club applied for planning permission on both the ground work and the build spent millions and it all went pear shaped through the brilliant plans of our chairman, the council only got involved when out original plans fell through, they had to give the impression it was a community stadium to get the funding, peel holding stumped up parts of the funding also. It's not a community stadium never has been used by anyone else apart from Salford and this year sale. Community has never been in the name it's called Salford city stadium that's it.
It's nearly finalised now Tuesday is the expected announcement date. www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/ ... al-1239058

| He'll have a majority stake in the stadium though meaning no rent fees to pay like last year and more than half of the total profits e.g semi finals, internationals, parties gym rental pitch rentals beer food hospatality will go to Salford. I'd imagine he'll by peel holdings half once port Salford and the retail park get underway.

Not necessarily. He could well set up a company that owns the share in the stadium and Salford may well have to pay rent to them and the company will get any profit from other activities.
The bloke's a business man after all.

| That just wouldn't make sense, if you watch his interviews he clearly says he wants to buy the stake in the stadium so Salford can get more revenue. How can he make a company and rent the stadium off himself? He's going to be our new chairman he wants to bring in money to spend on the team he already said RL clubs don't make profit so he's clearly in it for the sport and he wants to take Salford to glory.

Of course it makes sense. Stadium one company, Salford another. Things stay the same at Salford, no crowds, no success, or gets fed up of his new plaything. Pulls support, they go belly up but the stadiums's safe from the creditors locked away with another company.
More revenue could simply be allowing them to have the profit from sales of pies.
Let's see how things get set up.

Lord give me strength!!! Either your taking the p1ss Or your saying all this in hope that all this goes t1ts up for us as us going under was probably the only way your team could make super league but just look at the facts.
1. He's paid 700000 to clear the debts that's a lot of money to pay for someone not interested in the rugby club.
2. He's paid in the region of 10millon to the council for his Majority share in the stadium, so he's over 10.7 million down straight away if Salford go bust and with sale likely to be relegated hed make zero money from the stadium as there would be no tenants.
3. If he wanted to buy the stadium and p1ss off why would he bother bringing in 3 of the NRLs top men to form his new administrative team, he just wouldn't bother would he.
4. Nobody belived his visions when he took up horse racing back in 2007. In his words "they do now" he spends 1.8 million a year in training fees in horse racing so clearly the guy doesn't lack a few bob.
5. He said in a interview on itv he's not here to make a profit as he likely to lose money in his words I make plenty of money elsewhere I'm here purly for the success and to create a dynasty.
Salford like hull like Warrington are a sleeping giant abit if success on field will bring in the crowds easily!

| If you bother to watch the interviews and the past 5 or 6 news paper reports he tells you how he's going to set up. Ed farish ex NRL finance manager will be our new chief excecutive, graham Lowe ex Wigan coach and Gold Coast titans football director will take the job as Salfords director if football assisted by Andrew chalmers NZ NRL board member, he's told us his visions, 1 to buy or buy majority share in the stadium for the clubs income streams benifit, 2 build an onsite high tention gym and pool for the club to use, 3 build an onsite hostel for the young academy lads or young lads we bring in from down under. 4. build the squad over a 4 year period to create a rean capable of winning trophies.
So he's clearly here for the long hall and has Salfords best interests at heart. I know it's extremely lucky for the Salford club but hey people say the same about manchester city.

Ye just like Simon Moran and ken Davy their making millions out of wire and the giants are they? At the end of the day all these men are sport obsessed and have the money to buy and create successful sports teams, and that's up to them, like I said you don't need to spend 10s of millions to create a winning RL team.

| I don't disagree about the cost of building a team
I wasn't talking about him building a team. I was talking about him spending - your words - over £10 million on a part share of a stadium and "giving" it to Salford.
Millionaires don't make money by giving large sums away

| What do you mean give it to Salford? He is SALFORD now. John wilkinson owned the willows but it was still Salfords ground, marwan Kaukash isnt just an investor he's our new chairman.

| Oh My God, Red league, you have annoyed me so much I have had to spend the last hour trying to remember my log in.
Firstly a sound business man will keep as many parts of his business separate from each other, just in case. he will keep the stadium separate from Salford. If he wants to walk away then he can, and still have a have a viable money making business. If both Salford and sale fold then he has land that he can build on. he has not invested 10.7 million in Salford, he has cleared Salford’s debts 700,000 and then is probably taking a majority share in a separate business costing 10 million.
Could it be that he wants the stadium business for 10 million and the only way he could get it was to spend 700,000 on Salford and will keep them going for a while and then pull out leaving him with a stake in a stadium with the rights to build housing or other businesses on the attached lands worth more than the 10.7 million he had to spend.
I hope I am wrong because I do like Salford, I just don’t like you lording it up on this site because you have kept a licence you do not deserve as your financial plan was speculative and failed the first time and now you get a second chance in the same division instead of having to start again.

Or could it be that your clutching at straws trying to think of anything negative hoping it doesn't work out? The sport is on its backside as it is so you better hope more people like our new chairman come to the rescue for the good of the game, just one thing why should we of started again?
