| It's a choice between that or teaching double entry bookkeeping to a cabbage I bought today.
I'll take my chance with the cabbage.

| OK, I failed with the cabbage.
You ready?

" Fact is the teams currently in SL are there for the long hall they are all needed ro grow the game of RL, for instance why would the RFL bother to save Salfords skin if we didn't have potential to bring something they want? A successful mancheter RL team the RFL have wanted this for years and now finally after finding a man capable of doing so will not let go for love nor money!"
What I'm saying is that the RFL thought the same way about Crusaders. So, from what you wrote above, replace Salford with Crusaders and three year ago everyone would have said what you've just written. But that's not what happened is it? Crusaders were cast aside like an olive in a Christmas hamper.
If Chairmen like McManus and Hudgell had their way you wouldn't see nurturing loyalty for dust. If they decide to go down to ten there's nothing little old Salford could do, nor could the RFL.
Something has to radically change in SL and in 2014, something WILL radically change, even if you can't stomach the thought.

| For a start Crusaders weren't cast aside like you say they had the full backing from the RFL they chose to give up their place in super league after their chairman found he bitten off more than he could chew (didnt want to spend any more money) and I know that for a fact as my farther in law is a crusaders supporter group member who knew what was going to happen before the new set of franchises were given out.
And chairmen like McManus you say? Are you speaking of the same Eamon McManus the saints chairman and good friend and business associate of Dr Marwan Kaukash the very same man who was introduced to RL by McManus ye I'm sure he would stab a big business partner in the back like that wouldn't do him any favours at all would. Listen your a clown who likes to spout rumours to get people's backs up and fill their head full of rubbish l, well that doesn't wash with me!

The game would not be sustainable with two Leagues of 10. Nine home games a season plus Challenge Cup games we'd have a season of 5 months maximum.

| Listen mate, I didn't mean to upset you. Calm yourself and take a deep breath. Answer me this: Do you think SL can continue in its current form, given what has happened to Crusaders, Wakefield, Bradford and Salford during the franchise era? Just put your massive club to one side for a second and think about the state of SL over the last three years. It's current form has to change does it not?

The Championsip (lower league) played with a ten team league. All I'm going off is what I've heard and if a way can be found for a ten team SL the top clubs (the surviving ten) would take the Sky cash and drop the other clubs in a heartbeat.
Let's see what happens. The people I've spoke to may be wrong but SOMETHING has to change. It's just not "super" when a quarter of its members have gone bust in four years!

| I have a few points, they might be wrong but here they are.
What do the events at Salford prove or change anyway as regards Super League.
Nothing that we didn't allready know.
1.)The licensing system that claimed to vet the current clubs missed more than they saw and in many ways the clubs are there under a cloud of incompetance from the powers that be.
2.)Without a wealthy backer clubs will struggle both on and off the field.
3.)These teams remain a viable member of Super League just as long as the current backer or a replacement stays with the club or they become unsustainable at that level.
4.)Unless the team plays consistently well people won't turn up.
5.)In time more and more will stop coming.
6.)Those that do stop will find alternatives and many will never come back.
7.)The vast majority of the Super League games involving teams in the middle to bottom half of the table screened live on TV to a National audience are of an embarrisingly poor standard.
8.)They will not attract new interest regardless of how hard the Sky pundits keep saying the competition keeps getting better and better.
9.)To stop this there is a real need to produce more better quality home grown Rugby League players.
10.) How will this be done if the teams outside S/L get left to die off and at the same time the junior competitons are culled back with the door being shut on much of the games youth.
11.) How long will the chairmen and directors of clubs outside Super League keep self sacrificing money, time and effort into a cul de sac competition with no hope or chance to progress.
That is what is happening now with the current RFL iditos in charge, how can that be for the good of the game at any and all levels.

| One thing that all those clubs had in commen was bad management who were riddled with debt. Now none of them will be. Even if we has promotion and relegation those club would still have gone near enough under, it's the fanancial climate the country finds itself in that's the problem. I know the very thing that done it for Salford and that is being a tennant in a stadium we do not own, our crazy previous chief executive drew up a business plan based on 8000 supporters a week just to break even!. A figure we'd never attract unless we were winning games, not being slaughtered like we were last year, obviously with his STUPID business plan falling to peices they started loaning money, money they could never afford to pay back. And up until last week is how Salford found themselves skint in debt hopeless! Now our knight in shining armour has come in with a miles better business model for a start hes planning to buy the stadium so we'd make the profits of it not peel holdings or Salford council and too he will attract major income from planned business ventures on the stadium site, a proposed hotel, gym, casino conserts and major sponserships from his racing buddies the guy is a self made multi millionaire who wins at everything. Why do you think McManus introduced him to RL? Ill tell you why because RL wouldn't be in the mess it is now if more high profile people like Dr Kaukash were involved in the game instead of the chancers we have currently.

| Good read that Red League.
How many more clubs are being run badly? Not that there's much anyone can do about it. I have applauded the Koukash intervention elsewhere and my dismay is levelled at the franchise system in its current form, not Salford or Bradford or Wakefield.
I may be wrong but I'm certain that SL cannot continue as it is for much longer.

| You say Salford will p1ss it all up the wall but when you say that are you going off the current owner and board or the new owners? We will have Andrew Chalmers ed farish and Neil Lowe on the new management team pretty big names in the RL world and people who have managed huge RL clubs at the top. I personally think they'll do a good job.
