| I believe Salford are up in court today over the winding up petition, which is likely to be adjourned due to some 11th hour talks.
Someone was saying the investors been talked to arent ones that Salford have found but people/organisations the RFL have lined up, so if they do come to fruition they're going to have very little interest in Salford, but probably would like to make a nice return on their investment, when they realise thats not going to happen they'll probably be off

| "Invest" which of these applies to Rugby League cash?
verb (used with object)
1. to put (money) to use, by purchase or expenditure, in something offering potential profitable returns, as interest, income, or appreciation in value.
2. to use (money), as in accumulating something: to invest large sums in books.
3. to use, give, or devote (time, talent, etc.), as for a purpose or to achieve something: He invested a lot of time in helping retarded children.
4. to furnish with power, authority, rank, etc.: The constitution invests the president with the power of veto.
5. to furnish or endow with a power, right, etc.; vest: Feudalism invested the lords with absolute authority over their vassals.

| Certainly No.3 I reckon.
To be honest anyone who invests cash in to a sporting club, especially Football & Rugby League, expecting to see a return on their investment in cold hard cash is probably not all there anyway.

| Announcement tomorrow. Salford, who fell head first into a massive bucket of crap get bailed out by a multi-millionaire and come out of the said bucket smelling of roses with their licence intact.
So that's Wakefield, Bradford and Salford having run rings around the licence system.
Next up?

Listen to the press conference he clearly says the RFL approached him, can't blame us for being extremely lucky.

I don't think anyone is having a go at any club as such.
The thing is, the RFL introduced a set of criteria that has not been adhered to on multiple occasions except to be used against any club that they see fit.
Any disgruntlement or anomosity is directed against them.
At our level we feel like lepers who are being allowed to die off.
Having bypassed the rules to fit Bradford as a "iconic" club that could not be allowed to go out of buisness they now have to apply the same with all other Super League clubs to avoid discrimination.
it would have been interesting to see how much help they would have given Salford if the Bradford incident had not happened.
Much less if any I suspect.
Salford are as much a part of good traditional Rugby league as anyone else and as a club it's great news that they have now got what looks like a strong backer.
Have a good season and lets hope your away from the problems.

Definately not and it's heartening that the RFL can still attract the money men. What is abhorrent is the complete disregard to, and pointlessness of, the licencing system. It is one big fat joke and a complete sham. Good riddance to it in 2014 and i look forward to welcoming Salford to the Shay again in SL2.
