Widnes and Halifax were the only clubs not to fall below 2000 on any home attendance.

Plaudits to Widnes whose top two attendances were Gateshead 5236 and Toulouse 5074. Good marketing there. Also they were the only two games to have over 5000 at the match.

Only two matches went over 4000 and they were at Widnes too. Halifax 4039 and Leigh 4354.

Plus we did not do a come for freebie like other clubs so we have done well imo.
Crowds are just about numbers now, inflated by all at times, like th Sky games where you can count a load of free tickets!

Rugby Union clubs get rounded numbers every week without fail. It's like they can't really be bothered to count them in.

Our gates will rise again next year with a return to the Sunday afternoon slot, the Friday/Saturday experiment hasnt worked that well this year.

After collating the 2008 attendances from courier match reports for the nine league games at home last year, we had an average of 2256.

Each game attendance for 2008 were:

Average with the two missing games is 1835.

represents a 27% inc on 2007 but only 3% on 2008.
With a decent marketing campaign can only get better, getting to GF should help attend for 2010 also

I think the crowds have gone up around 200 every year since 2006. 2006 we averaged something like 1600 and now up to 2330 so its small steps but going in the right direction. Hopefully get around 2500 next season would be nice, we're not Widnes we can't pull in there support at the moment lets face it.

I agree, I have said it hundreds of times the truer and more important figure for me is the FULL PAYING speccies and not all the freebies and cheap deals which yer are bums on seats but not necessarily your fan base.

I think next year we should target a game against say Gateshead for free entry and get 3K or 4K down to BOOST our attendance figures to make us look good, I hate it but you have to 'play the game'. As a season tickt holder i have no issue with this as long as it is a one off.

Im sure we can spin all this, but its pretty disapointing to me that we didnt get a few bigger numbers in there, perhaps tv, kick off times and weather has an impact too, added to the lack of special offers for speccies this year.
We should have had a couple of big crowds in, and average 500 more, i dont think our late season form helped things either.
Look at how we take so many away, and what we did at Cas, theres untapped potential for sure.
