Don't know enough about the facts and figures HJ re summer rugby - but it is worrying. Hearing stories from others who used to play cricket and football at a local level and all say dwindling numbers are a great concern. Another colleague used to play cricket for King Cross until they folded. Changing world ; different commitments etc affecting a lot of team sports.
