Maybe, realistically, just Hunslet and York? Wasn't Oldham's ground considered inadequate prior to their grand final appearance last year, so that, if that had beaten Rochdale, they would not have been promoted?

I consider that the winners of the league are the true champions and therefore should be promoted as that are the team who have shown most consistency and performance throughout a whole season. That would be fairest way, but that carries no weight with the RFL.

Whoever does come up will find it hard going against the two relegated SL clubs and the top 9 from this season's Championship.

Really should have been league leaders going up this year. The championship will be very competitive and needs the most consistently good champ 1 team promoting not the best cup team. I know it will be grand final winners in future but this season the team going up is being promoted above 5 teams.

As unlikely as it is, its still possible for fifth place to be promoted in to a league they wont be anywhere near ready for.

But if the RFL changed it for this year only then somebody(you know who you are) might then hark back to it as a precedent being set and then all sorts of chaos may ensue.
