Quote: Brew "I think it was inevitable that the football club would have to move games away from The Shay, they're something like 10 games behind everyone else in their league, and most of the games they need to make up are home fixtures I believe.
The pitch at The Shay is never great, it gets dug up and reseeded every year more or less, looks good for a while then just falls away again. unless some serious money is put up to sort it once and for all, it'll keep on happening.
How much does an iPitch cost>'"
The pitch was very good one of the best around until about 2 years ago since when it has started to deteriorate, I guess due to the wetter than ever weather.
If the Council get the drainage sorted this summer we shall hopefully see a good pitch again.
Hope so.
Oh and it was that midweek match 3 weeks ago that Town played that really messed up the pitch, it has never recovered since, we have only played on it twice and both times were dry days.
