Fax have struggled to average a 2,000 attendance all season and today's attendance of almost
5,000 now gives them the average of 2,500! Hmmmmmm strange coincidence that on their last home game of the season they now hit the criteria for Super League application.
Attendance figures should be the number of people through the turnstiles on the day. Not the number of tickets sold. I bet they claim to have sold tickets to schools etc for £0 but if these people don't turn up then they shouldn't count towards the days attendance.
If you employee that logic then what's stopping teams like Widnes and Leigh from doing the same and selling 10,000 tickets each week at £0? Which would look they would have sold out the stadium each week because technically the tickets have all been sold???
It's a disgrace. Professional clubs lying about attendances just to hit criteria set down.
This needs to be investigated and the true attendance figure published.
