Quote: harry1 "rubbish match - haven were lucky that they weren't beaten today in the end - v poor defence from both sides.

I also feel that if the haven player hadn't punched Penky in the face (with both his fists!) he wouldn't have woken up in the manner he did - i have never seen a Fax club doctor harangue a touch judge before - maybe he was checking to see that he hadn't been temporally blinded by all the sand blowing off the sandpit that is the playing surface in front of the skircoat stand!

Lets hope Govin's knee's and shoulders last till the end of the season - amazing what some decent ball can do for our centres and wingers'"

In the first half I thought our defence was outstanding. Albeit we kept putting ourselves under pressure but at one point we kept you out for around 7 sets without getting out of our own half. It's a lot easier to start throwing a ball around when losing 46-14 with 20 minutes left with nothing to lose and that's all Fax did and were close to stealing it late on.

I don't get why your team keep putting themselves under pressure with stupid kick offs. Ok you get some of them back but not all of them and when you were opening up as easily as you did today surely it makes more sense to get the team down the other end of the field. Especially at 0-0. Fax did the same at Whitehaven when 24-0 up after half time put a kick in which never went 10 and changed the game.

It won't work on teams with more brains and a pair of half backs though.
Its Barrow or Widnes for the GF, unless we find some form again which is not impossible - here's hoping.

PS. I hope its not you lot in the GF the way you play. Yer it beats us but it aint pretty, of your 8 tries only the clever kick into the corner was from really good rugby, the rest were our errors or slack tackling.
As you can see I don't like Haven
and who forced the errors though us

defence wins games , give us some credit,we play a percentage game yes and we know when to build pressure instead of throwing it about
jt , leroy, matty and edmo smashed you all day long forcing error after error which we made the most of, nice moves for gorski to break the line to put eilbeck in , and jt,s try and his off load for edmos try were hardly boring to watch

credit where its due

We've beat every side in this division at some point this season so does that mean that every side in the league must have no brains and lack a pair of half backs. Or you could just praise the way we played. The team play to it's strengths and it's effective. We can hardly be called boring considering the amount of tries we've scored and conceded recently. 6 of our 9 tries on Sunday were scored by wingers as well.

We shall one day be back where we belong and along shall come the Bulls defectors.:45767.jpg

Repeating myself here but two words:

STAND OFF.

Too late now but you have to question MC's thinking considering he was a back. Maybe he had a bad experience with a stand-off who wouldn't pass to him and has made it his ambition to try not to use them in his teams? icon_eek.gif

unfortrunately I missed the game due to work, sounds like penky had a poor game, I cant help but feeling he has become a little complacent with being her so long, really disappointing result but at least widnes lost. icon_cry.gif

I'll give you credit and especially to the fans that made the journey down, more in hope than expectation (thats the impression i got from the ones i spoke too). I wish we cold play simple rugby at times. All the teams that have beaten us haven't had to do anything outstanding to do so. Were either brilliant or awful, no middle ground whatsoever.

Were a soft touch in defence and very very rarely build any pressure, repeat sets etc.
