| I've got a website voucher for a trip or break for basically anywhere but haven't got much idea where to go. The voucher is for £100 so of course I will have to put a few more quid towards it.
Where are people's favourite places to visit in Britain?
I've had breaks in most northern cities already (Edinburgh, Loch Lomond, York, Chester, Lake Windemere. Also done Cardiff and Dublin).
I've never spent much time down south apart from London, I've always fancied Bristol to see the Brunel bridge though, what are people's thoughts on Bristol as I have never been?

Bristol is an odd place. Quite interesting but seeing the locals on a night out is like being in Doncaster c. 1976. I kid you not.

| If you want the South then other options might include Bath (to see Sam), Oxford, Cambridge, etc.

| Had a nice weekend in Stratford last year, bit busy though. Bath is nice as well, we took in Bridgewater and Wells.
Portsmouth is also worth a visit, they have spent a lot on revamping some of the old navy buildings and there is the Mary Rose, Victory and other attractions.

| I was going to mention Portsmouth but its not to everyones taste.
Are you taking a car or public transport? If in the car Norwich could be good. I've not been into the town centre but I'm guessing its quite interesting. You could then spend day two in the Norfolk countryside, especially if birding is of interest or even drive up to the North coast - beautiful. Holkham is stunning and you don't need to be a birder there. Lots of stately homes in the area, the Broads, etc.

Norwich is fairly interesting and worth a visit, but there are some really nice towns and villages round about. The coast is nice for a visit with some nice walking routes and there is also a steam railway. The broads are nice and peaceful, but make sure it dries out a bit first otherwise you will probably only see flying fish! There are some nice NT properties as well. We stayed at a NT cottage near Blickling Hall a few year ago and would definitely recommend it.

| As to Norwich - the Broads are on the doorstep. The North Coast is a bit further. There's also Sandringham if that's your sort of thing as well as the aforementioned NT properties. Get a boat boat from Blakeney to see the seals. Eat some crab. Go on a steam railway or two. Frankly, I'd give Norwich a miss and base yourself at Hunstanton!

| Just got back from Durham (work though) after 3 day stay, it's really nice out on a night, took my camera and tripod out and had a nice night snapping away with a few beers along the way.

| If you fancy Wales, then go to Tir-y_coed, probably one of the best places I have ever stayed (near Rowen), look on Tripadvisor, it's just awesome.

| If you're into Log cabins in the middle of no where Trawsfynydd, there's a cracking pub on site, take a torch as there are no lights at night and you can't see 3 foot in front of you.
