Quote Dally="Dally"When you hear what has happened in Manchester today, do feel the death penalty should be applied in such extreme cases?
For me absolutely yes.'"
So before anyone has been tried and convicted, you'd be happy to see the re-introduction of the death penalty for "extreme" cases?
Define extreme - and just saying "like what happened in Manchester yesterday" will not suffice. Was what happened yesterday more "extreme" than the Birmingham or Guildford bombings? If not, there are ten people who would have been wrongly executed.
Capital punishment has buggerall to do with justice, it is all about revenge and is certainly not an indication of a civilised society. Just because some people occasionally act in an uncivilised manner is not an excuse for our legal system to follow suit.
