| The second appointee (after the first one had to recuse himself) is employed by the government she sends the report to de Pfeffel and he decides if anyone has broken the rules. The fact that de Pfeffel and the rest of his cronies are pushing to make the report the defining factor clearly indicates that the restrictions placed on the civil servant and what she can offer for conclusions will if not entirely clear de Pfeffel it will not say he broke the rules.
The de Pfeffel supporters will I am sure breathe a sigh of relief and look to move on. The problem is that the public are not so forgiving and it is finally dawning on many the actual type of person he is
The question is was Sunak in residence and if so why did he not stop any of the parties and when these were taking place what were the Police doing did they not realise it was against the law that applied at the time.

| It’s not this was dealt with last year because unlike de Pfeffel this was work but desperation results in the Mail regurgitating all sorts of old rubbish. It was confirmed that it was a work meeting prior to the Hartlepool by-election rather than what de Pfeffel considers a work meeting to be.

Desperate times for the Mail and Tory apologists. Even some of the usual most pro Tory suspects have steered clear of trying to pretend that's even vaguely similar.
Not you though ![Laughing icon_lol.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_lol.gif)

How desperate are you.
At least Starmer fronted up and said why he was there and what was happening, as opposed to lies or hiding behind a dodgy report.
Also, if you are suggesting that he was in the wrong, what the hell does that say about Boris Lyin' Johnson

| First policy of the year rolled out yesterday. The left wing biased BBC won't be getting extra money for at least 2 years.
Well done Boris, let's move on from Boris and Kier drinking illegally.

There weren't too many complaints when the BBC were hammering Corbyn.
Is threatening the BBC all that the Tories have left.
Perhaps they should stop telling lies and "stealing" from the taxpayer and actually run to bloody country, instead of having a mickey up every Friday during lockdown
Just for the record are you ok with the endless downing street parties ?

Ironic when they used the BBC to smear Corbyn and whip up hate against immigrants.

Indeed, IIRC they had to apologise to Labour for bias during part of the election campaign but, let him have his moment.

| Let's be clear both those on the left and right of the political divide are utterly certain the BBC are biased to the opposite side. In fact both political spectrums would argue the BBC are institutionally skewed against them. Someone is wrong, or is it that both are correct?.
For me the reason everyone thinks the BBC is biased against them, is that the BBC pursue a craven policy of neutrality even when there are issues that cannot objectively be given equal weight. Off the top of my head, things like Brexit and Israel. Their near pathological obsession with not taking sides leads to disastrously misjudging their editorial stance. If you are left or right you'll have a juicy example of the BBC bias against you. The BBC are in quite a predicament.

| De Pfeffel excuse was that he was not told the gathering on the 20/05/2020 was illegal. I thought he was the one who came up with the restrictions so you would think he had some idea.

| Almost painful to watch Johnson be interviewed by Beth Rigby. Everybody knows he’s a liar caught in an embarrassing lie, hoping that he’ll get a procedural and short-memories pass and gradually realising it ain’t as likely as he thought. He’s ridden his narcissistic, ‘I’m exceptional’ philosophy all the way to the top, pushing it so far that he assumed it had no bounds (I was starting to wonder!) and suddenly it isn’t working.
For those posters with a more generous view of Johnson and Cummings, which of them do you tend to believe in this situation?

Tbf to Cummings, he should have been finished after his jolly to Durham and Barnard Castle.
The fact that he was allowed to carry on seemed to indicate that, for whatever reason, Boris needed him close by.
Some though thet it may have been his vision and ideas that kept him in his post but, it seems more likely that he had too much info about his boss and this would certainly seem to be the case now.
As for Boris "not knowing" that the gathering was against the rules and possibly breaking the law, really??
It's staggering that he believes this may count as some kind of defence and does he always take his wife to "business meetings", it beggars belief and quite rightly, nobody (aside from his nodding dog ministers) is letting him off the hook.
He has been "mis-speaking" for all of his tenure at No 10 and after so many let offs with "it's just how he is", hopefully, the lying PM will get his marching orders, although, I'd be happy for him to mortally would his party first. ![Very Happy icon_biggrin.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_biggrin.gif)
