Quote: El Barbudo "First of all, it's the Daily Mail and there is insufficient meat (pun intended) on the bones of this story to know just what happened.'"
I agree that more information would be useful.
Quote: El Barbudo "The "relentless demand for revenge", as you put it, would be just as relentless if halal was served at a Catholic school.'"
There have been many examples of halal food being served to non-Muslims. Most of the time this has been done secretly, which is actually something I agree with. A lot of people get het up about labelling, but many born again Christians would actually prefer not to know that food has been blessed in the name of the Islamic God.
Anyway, to answer you point there has been no equivalent outrage, and to my knowledge no one has been sacked.
Quote: El Barbudo "This multi-faith school is apparently attended mostly by Muslims, which is probably why there is such a fuss about halal.'"
Most are Muslims, but not all. It is unfair that others should be forced to consume food which has been sacrificed to a false god.
Quote: El Barbudo "Halal meat is not "sacrificed to idols", as you put it.'"
Yes it is, to the Muslim god.
Before you say that Christians and Muslims worship the same God, no, we don’t. I worship the living, risen Lord Jesus Christ. I take comfort in the triune Godhead of Father, Son and Spirit.
Muslims say that Jesus (Isa) was not God. They don’t believe in the Holy Spirit. They believe in some weird kind of dictator moon god.
Quote: El Barbudo "Particularly amusing is your reference to the "Muslim moon god" ... I guess your belief in your own god is a result of rational reasoning?'"
Silly question, of course I do.
Quote: El Barbudo "Islam as a religion is nonsense.'"
Agreed.
Quote: El Barbudo "As is Christianity'"
Christianity is not a religion, so that’s a non-starter.
Quote: El Barbudo "Either get over it or show some forgiveness(*).'"
Who am I to forgive? I have not been wronged!
Quote: El Barbudo "(*) One of the main planks of the Christian doctrine, I understand?'"
Technically not a matter of doctrine, but a worthwhile endeavour which pleases God.
