On 2 July 2011 a hardy team of highly trained accountants will be undertaking the Yorkshire Three Peaks Mountain Challenge in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care.
It's a 26 mile trek across the three highest peaks in Yorkshire - Pen-y-ghent (2,277ft), Whernside (2,415ft) and Ingleborough (2,375ft) in just one day.
We've all got some first hand experience of the effects of cancer, whether it's on friends, family or even ourselves. Marie Curie are there to provide support to terminally ill patients and their families either in their own home or in one of their hospices. Making a donation enables them to continue providing these invaluable services.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please give as much or as little as you feel able for this worthwhile cause.
Cheers
Andy

Pleased to say all members of the team managed to complete despite hot and sunny conditions, took around 14 hours from leaving Horton Village Hall to getting back again.
A bit sore and sunburnt, and sporting a blister on one of my toes virtually the size of the toe itself.
In terms of physical and mental challenges, it's without doubt the most gruelling thing I've ever done and while I wouldn't be in a hurry to do it again I'd encourage anyone who wants to really push themselves to take it on.
Thanks for all your best wishes and donations, can I just remind you that the Just Giving page remains open for another three months or so (probably longer than I'll last given the way I'm feeling today lol) at:

I may not be MoreThan Freeman, but thank you for listening - oh, and suffice to say I won't be at training tonight!

"Every player in our [Lost Loiners] squad could probably earn more money with their day job. But they prefer to sacrifice a few extra quid in their back pocket to share special memories. And playing at a place like Morley on a night like this makes it all worthwhile.":9460.jpg |

Two words Evers - second one is off. I'm reduced to moving at G1's pace, that's how bad things have got.

I've just seen this comment. I'd be offended if it weren't accurate,
You training tonight? I've been pondering doing the 3 peaks just for the sake of getting it done so hopefully you'll be there to talk me out of it.

Aye, will be up at Morley tonight.
I wouldn't want to talk anyone out of what is such a life affirming experience for a very worthy cause.

| I know your game lad. I did 6 miles Sunday, fairly level. Took 3 and a half hours and my toes are sore.
Think I need a bit of work.
