The Rochdale Swarm are having an open trial game on Sunday at Firgrove playing fields starting at 12.00 noon. The run out is in preparation for the upcoming Tag Merit League season, and the Swarm have opened it up to anyone, men and women who would like to have a try this non contact version of Rugby League. People just have to turn up on the morning and join in. The Swarm will supply all the Tags etc. and everyone will be made to feel very welcome.
The Swarm held a meeting this week with Tom Allen from the RFL as part of the preparation for the International Mixed Tag Rugby League Festival the Swarm are hosting on the 30th of May. The meeting covered funding, volunteers, match officials and general planning. The Swarm are elated with the level of backing they are receiving from the RFL with this project and both parties see it as a major promotional tool for increasing participation in Rugby League to those who are attracted to a non contact version.The RFL representative also took in a Swarm training session and commented on the friendly atmosphere and the excellent numbers who turned up to the session. www.rochdaleonline.co.uk/news-fe ... ew-players
