After this most difficult of years we’d like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
After a great start to the season everything ground to a terrible halt when the coronavirus pandemic plunged us into uncertainty and lockdown. All credit and thanks to the clubs, players and administration who got us re-started and managed to complete a truncated season punctuated by a Challenge Cup Final win for the Leeds Rhinos, and a Super League Grand Final win for St Helens over their old rivals the Wigan Warriors in November.
It had been a long off-season for the Championship and Championship One sides who never made it as far as a restart, and we hope that these clubs will all be able return to action in 2021 with strong backing from their supporters and the RFL.
Hopefully you and your families can remain safe for the festive period and get some enjoyment from the holidays while looking forward to a far better 2021, as the vaccination programme gets rolled out and we start to see a substantial drop in new infections and hospital admissions.
If you are feeling low during this time, if you can’t get to see supportive family and friends as you would normally do, there are people that can assist you. We always carry the information from The Samaritans in the image in the right-hand column of the site and they can be called for free on 116 123, twenty-four hours a day, 365 days per year. Please don’t suffer in silence.
We thank you for sticking with us through the year, continuing to use the site and forums, and maintaining the fantastic and supporting community which we have had for over twenty years. During the short off-season we look forward to your company as we build towards the restart in March.
Once again, have a fabulous and safe Christmas and a fingers crossed for a prosperous Rugby League filled New Year and to full stadiums once again.
