it is wrong but they do not have an away following to start with so it will not effect too many,but those who it does should be compensated for what has happened ! I'm now waiting to see if sky change our game in Barca seeing as it is such high profile !

The Rugby League will only take notice if we stop going to Perpignon and reduce their viability as a club. The decison should be reversed now. A very poor second is that they should pay compensation to all people who have booked tickets. Gits! |

Why can't the game be played on Saturday?
If it's just television schedules, then they could have recorded the game and shown it on Sunday.

Absolute disgrace in my opinion, and shows the contempt that the RFL and Sky have for the paying spectators.
Would Sky or the RFL dare to do the same if the fixture involved a team such as wigan, Leeds or ourselves (ie teams that will take hundreds or even thousands rather than tens)? I believe they have now set a precedent making this possible in the future.

bad one this as most fans wanting to attend cats away would probably plan and book as soon as possible after fixture list made public.
i know harlequins do not have a massive following away,but if in their position the 1 game i would like to go would be that one.anyone now the numbers this has affected.

And nor are we likely to build one if it keeps going like this, have a look at how many games we play away on a Friday night and how many of our away games get shifted by Sky. |

The RFL in my opinion are still an amateur organisation running a professional sport.
England are playing Argentina in a RU friendly this week. I imagine the best players will be away on the Lions tour, but where are they playing it? Old Trafford. If the RFL were in charge of the game, it would probably receive zero promotion and be played somewhere like Stockport.  |

| On the Wire's first trip to Perpignan we had tickets for the Barcelona v Espanyol game on the sunday. It as all organised fly to Barcelona friday, drive to Perpignan stay friday & saturday night, drive back to barcelona sun morning, game and stay in hotel then back to blighty on monday!!
Then 2 weeks before the trip Spanish TV changed game to the saturday night so watch Mighty Wire or Barcelona??? No contest Wire all the way!!!
Have some good photos of fans and players alike in a certain Irish Bar in Perpignan!!!

| Glad to read that other clubs are 'worried' about the Sky attitude to away games at the Catalan.
Do not think they will ever dare to do this again the 'backlash' has been much greater than expected.
My own personal budget for the Friday to Sunday visit was due to total around £250 including travel, hotel, match ticket etc - and I booked by Paddy Air back in early January. Last year it totaled £215 booking the same early date etc - the increase is because of the poor Euro/£ rate!!
Now because of Sky change to a Sunday pm game I'm having to find an extra £165 including two additional nights hotel, food etc. It's turned out to be cheaper to come back Tuesday when had to pay only £35 for tax/charges
on a 'free' flight rather than paying £126 for a Monday flight which would have with hotel/food etc totaled £191.
As a pensioner that extra cost 'hurts' and if you multiply it by our 250 or so weekend at the Catalan average fan numbers in past seasons it totals a sum in excess of anything between £41k & £45k extra to attend the game on a Sunday....plus the posibility of lost work pay for being 'absent' on Monday.
