Hemel Stags have signed formed Super League and Catalans youngster Remy Marginet for their first season in Championship 1 in 2013.
Having played a few games for the Super League outfit Remy is taking the chance to get more experience playing in Championship 1 with the ambitious Hemel Stags club.
Troy Perkins, Head Coach at the Stags commented, 'I am really pleased to have signed Remy. We have been on the lookout for a quality halfback for a while now and it is great to have a player with some Super League first team experience join our squad.
He is still young but has come though a good system at Catalan Dragons and he would have learnt a lot from his coaches Trent Robinson and Steve Deakin.
I played at UTC just before they went into Super League as Catalan Dragons and I still have plenty of friends down in Perpignan and this I how I was told about Remy wanting the opportunity to play in England.
I have watched a fair bit of footage of Remy and have been impressed with what I have seen. He has a good kicking game, is pretty lively and a real handful when he takes the line on. I am looking forward to working with him in preseason.'
Hemel have also signed a crop of other players into their squad for next year. James Howitt, Kazeem Faturoti and Guy Aldam have all signed contracts for the 2013 Championship 1 season.
In addition, Ash Fyson and Ben Kavanagh, both Hemel Juniors born and bred, have both signed contract for Hemel Stags in Championship 1 next year.
Commenting on the squad that is being built Tom Williams, Community Manager, said 'I am really excited by the prospect of this squad achieving next year.
To have signed a player with Super League experience alongside two Hemel players who have come through our junior system is a special thing to be able to do.
We are preconditioned at the club to err on the side of realism and we know it is going to be tough but the likes of Remy will certainly put on a great show for our supporters both businesses and individuals.'
