well they gave us another scare , giving the opposition a few points start till half time then it was a different team that came out .What a turnaround i couldn't believe it ,it was like we were playing down the hill at mount pleasant our defence stiffened up our attack clicked and we started to play . hats off to the young lads sam scott , cory hanson, and the young hooker (sorry cant remember his name) but 1 to 17 with a few exceptions played out of their skins . batley gave us a cracking game one of the best i've seen down at the lane this season and their supporters were a credit to the club .once again a great win thanks lads ,

Poor refereeing may have been the cause of it today. Despite being from S Yorks Ronnie never does Sheffield any favours.

As for the time thing at the end - very perplexed.

As it happens I think Dane did ok today, couple of dodgy passes still but good, hard running and deserved his two tries.

Why oh why do we have to give teams a start? Today was almost a carbon copy of last week, albeit with a more favourable result. The youngsters stood up and were counted as some of our more experienced and talented players (Menzie, Misi) had an off day, particularly in the first half. We looked a better team without Menzie on the field, something I thought I'd never write, that's not to say he wouldn't be my first name on the team sheet next week!!

Great comeback though, our character shone through and we played really well second half. It really looks as if we're going to play Widnes away in the playoffs though, there should be an option to opt out.

1st half dreadful 2nd half was fantastic,excellent comeback,Sam Scott had a storming 2nd half,One of Peter Greens best games for the club,Mitch made numerous yards,they must have had a rollicking at half-time as they came out with a total different attitude,hopfully this might get the confidence back,The Batley fans near me were s to say the least,Fair play to supporting your own team,but there chants were all anti Eagles and the referee,Quickly went quiet when we started racking up the points and the clock certainly baffled a few,Good win.Widnes have Feath to play so i believe a win and a bonus would see us above Widnes if they lose and dont get BP,Would have liked to have got Batley in the play-offs as wed beat them home or away.

Once again 2 Sheffield teams out there today. Maybe they should have the half time talk before the start of the match next tine. Bit mystified by the stadium clock still showing about a minute left when the match finished.

Not a great game from Sergeant Ronnie but Batley were their own enemies with lack of discipline in the second half. I think they lost it more than us winning it. Saying that we did deserve something from the game.

I'd like to see Browns drop goal again. I'm sure it went over.

I was keeping time myself, as was Terry and we both had a minute left as well. As did the Batley commentator. Strange.

I must've been the only person in the ground who thought the drop goal went wide. Incidentally doctor, what did you think was wrong with the interception try? From where I was stood, we charged the kick down, their player gathered it then lost it in the tackle, Dane picked it up and scored. What's wrong with that?

Well, what a game that was!

1st half was shocking, I thought when we finally got that try we would hopefully get another an maybe go in at halftime 22-12 down but that wasn't the case. Poor handling errors were our downfall again which is so frustrating to see, little mistakes like knock-ons and forward passes..

The 2nd half was excellent, Pat Smith, Hanson and Scott really stood up and played well and it's nice we are now in a position were Smith can play and give Henderson a break, up until last week he's practically played 80 minutes every week and we need to make sure he doesn't burn out..

Like E.S.O said I thought we did better without Menzie in the 2nd half which isn't a nice thing to say but he just didn't seem at the races.

Well done to Johnny Woodcock on his return, I wasn't even supporting the Eagles when he got injured!

On the crowd, where was all the Eagles fans? 1,174 and alot of that was Batley fans too which isn't great considering it was our 1st home game back at BL. On the Batley fans, on the whole they where fine but the chavs who sat near us and just moaned at the ref, baited us and chanted anti-eagles songs & then went silent when we took the lead. Pointless idiots

Finally, thanks to Mr Timekeeper as with ball in hand & a minute to go, I could see Batley going over or a winner!

Forgot to mention Jonny Woodcock, was great to see him back, he proved he's still more than capable at this level, even if he has lost a yard of pace.
