| Quote: Angelic Cynic "Was there any legitimate reason for an area of the field that should have been used for the warming-up by Sheffield Eagles players to be taped off? When it was finally removed by one of the coaching staff a groundsman entered the area to replace the tape and then after a few more minutes the tape was removed completely by the groundstaff.
No such area was taped off at the end of the ground where Leigh warmed up.
The youngest, slightest built player was sent from the field after winning a tackle which forced the knock-on to win his side the scrum.I did not see the offence which apparently was deserving of the red card.I expect that he has had an exemplary disciplinary record from the Under 8's and beyond, until today.
It was McNally who lay on the ground while Young Cory Aston was dismissed but he appeared to have made a full recovery shortly afterwards.
During the second half he appeared to have sustained a shoulder injury.
While Aston walked from the field Brierley 'sledged' him sufficiently to make up for the absence of McNally.
The injury sustained by McNally which led to him being stretchered from the field was where there was an overlap and our centre committed to the tackle as the ball went to the winger to score the try.The game had been lost in the first 5 minutes despite the great effort from the 12 men and it appeared to me that the tackle was late.
The Sheffield players and supporters applauded McNally from the field of play.Had the injury occurred in the first 5 minutes would it have been deemed disrespectful to keep warmed up and passing a ball about? It was very good of Keith Senior to try and keep the centre upbeat as obviously he would feel uneasy about a late challenge causing an injury to another professional.
Sadly, the objectionable home crowd only managed to up the crescendo into a joyous roar, rise as one in the seats and cheer gloriously as the smiling Hock walked from the field when he had deliberately attempted to injure another professional by punching him.
Sadly,it was left to the director of rugby to drag the next head coach of England from the official on the sidelines when McNally lay on the turf being attended to by medical staff.
You struggled to beat 12 men as the Yorkshire conspiracy has now come to a temporary end.Another club that doesn't like you face you next week, and it seems as though other Lancashire clubs will face you in the Middle 8's.
I hope McNally makes a full and speedy recovery and retains his place in the side to play Warrington next week.'"
Do everybody a favour please when you have finished.

We nearly racked up 60 points. Wasn't much of a struggle
Aston sent off, Smeaton KO'd McNally late, high and off the ball and Taluapapa punching Hock in the back of the head. Kind of makes a mess of your 'dirty Leigh' theory doesn't it.
Still, nice to know at least one Sheffield fan went today, I didn't see or hear a single one. Embarrassing support, or lack of!

Taluapapa will get a ban for cheap shotting Gaz Hock too. Could be turn out to be a disaster for Sheff today.

We lost by 40 points to London,at Blackool - No dramas:no cards.Lost by 34 points at Bradford - same again.
It was 13 v 13.For your victory you used up all your interchanges and for a full time team looked remarkably unfit.
You haven't mentioned the off the ball late tackle on Smeaton after he passed the ball for the last try and he was forced to the ground.Unlike Leigh the Sheffield players don't whinge to the referee.
Perhaps with the money saved from paying for a conditioner you should spend the money on red cards,so the players can wave them at the referee and save their energy with the verbals. Trying to get fellow professionals sent off is hardly sportsmanship - a word little understood by anyone associated with your club.
Can I take it that Dixon will change from a well disciplined young man to one with attitude, like McNally.
Once again it seems someone goes from serious injury to not so serious.Bit like Barlow after his usual punch up v Halifax,McNally not as injured as first appeared.
You must be going for the sympathy vote.Bit dramatic having an ambulance and paramedic vehicle outside the ground with revolving lights still in operation.
If Hock had been punched he wouldn't have left the field smiling - it was a push as he attempted to play the ball. You must have the same imagination as the 'supporter' who saw Smeaton deliver a forearm smash on McNally.
Yes,we were quiet. We enjoyed our time at Animal Farm and it reinforced our opinion that empty vessels make the most noise.
Please take your quick wit and repartee onto the Warrington forum - they await round 2 with eager anticipation.
We,of course, eagerly await our next trip to your welcoming home. Not!
Watching the replay Sam Smeaton raises his arm in an apology gesture immediately he realizes his mistake.

| Well the 'dirty leigh' tag once again has seen a yorkshire team face leigh with thuggish tactics. McNally was targeted all game right from the off which must have been a tactic from aston, i wouldnt expect anything else to be honest. Gaz Hock once again gets sin binned for getting punched and doing nothing. Those that didnt attend the game will no doubt still be talking about Hock rather than astons kick to the head or the very late and dangerous swinging arm to McNally. I predict some heavy bans coming un the way of shedfield. Great to see the sheffield fans out in numbers at the LSV!!

Not really. Brambani comes in for Aston. Walker comes in for Taulapapa (been playing 13 recently) and we can switch Duane Straugheir to centre in replacement of Sam Smeaton. That's if all get reprimanded by the RFL.

| I look forward to the video! Hope it shows Hock resisting a punch, it will be historic if so. What a great quote about leythers - "empty vessels most sound" love it and how true -

| Sucks no highlight of boxing? Still a plenty of forward passess. Astons wrestling throw was very impressive - no kicks to the head though why am I not surprised - empty vessels need to go to spec savers with the ref! "Sending off sufficent!"

You my friend are a very silly individual. Your teams approach to the game yesterday was a disgrace. Fev, Fax and now Sheffield cant match us this season so you resort to dirty tactics and blame Leigh. lucky for us the discipline commitee are not that stupid. You have a complete distane for Leigh which is your right, but dont try and defend the undefendable and dont make out that Greg mcNally was faining his injury, read the papers this morning and you will see that a yound lad died playing rugby at the weekend from a head injury, thats why we have ambulances, you should be ashamed of yourself Grow a set , and admit that yesterday Sheffield let themselves down and stop burrying your head in the sand. You remind me of a stupid parent who blames everyone else without seeing any wrong with there own.

I thought we more than matched you at the Keepmoat actually, we just lost our way when QLT threw the ball to Brierley.
Yesterday was a different story altogether, although I'd have been confident of our chances if Cory hadn't got sent off.
