| It's odd isn't it - you could get parniod - if he had been spotted hitting high tackle - he could may have been sinbined - at the most but because he's on report he may get banned - one to three - madness!

True.
But then the rest of the blurb made no sense.

| What an absolutely pathetic, moronic, imbecilic decision.
The perfectly positioned match officials, referee and TJ, both do not even believe the tackle to be worthy of a penalty.
To quote the Reasons for Decision[iIt is not clear to see the point of contact with the opposition player either the shoulder or the face[/i. However [iit appears[/i that the player has led with his forearm and [iwhilst not intentional[/i is clearly a reckless action which has the potential for serious injury. The Committee accepts that the initial contact [imay have been[/i on the shoulder but is clear the forearm ended up in the opponents face/head and both feet were off the floor. It is noted the player had all the body to go at." (my emphasis)
The committee admits that it is not clear to see the point of contact from the video yet sees fit to over-rule the match day officials that [iDID[/i have a clear view.
They can't say for definite that Menzie led with the forearm and admit it was not intentional.
Despite all this indecision and doubt, they then decide the case is proven!!!!!!!!!!!!
What a farce!!!
Decisions like this only bring the game into disrepute and further enhance the supporters' view of the RFL as a bunch of incompetent buffoons who aren't fit to run a whelk stall and don't give a damn about the game outside of their precious super-duper league.
£50 fine!!! Any chance the supporters club could run a bucket collection at the Widnes game so at least we can show Menzie that we love him?

| Why don't we just take tackling out of the game altogether?
Just kick off and let the first bloke to pick the ball up run to the ingoal.
I reckon we could get scores up to about three or four hundred points a game.
Not that anyone would bother coming to watch.
What happened to innocent until proven guilty, anyway?

| Further to my previous post, justice not only has to be done, be seen to be done but also be fair, equitable and consistent.
Also at this week's disciplinary hearings was Leeds' (spit) Ben Cross, who was also suspended for one match. I think we can ignore the fines as £300 and £50 is the standard fine for SL and Co-op players respectively.
Menzie's 'crime' was to tackle a ball carrier. Conversely, Cross deliberately attacked the head of Richie Myler off the ball after the player had passed the ball. There was plenty of time to pull out of the tackle but he did not. In my view a cowardly and despicable attack that has no place on any rugby pitch.
I can see no way in which these two incidents can be thought of as being remotely similar. One was a tackle on a ball carrier, one was a late hit to the head off the ball.
AND YET THE RFL DEEMS THE SAME PUNISHMENT IS NECESSARY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For ******* sake and ********* ******** *********** ********* the ******* ********* beyond **********
It's not even credible.
If Menzie's hit is worthy of a one match ban then Cross should be out for a month or two.
To say I'm annoyed by this is an understatement.
I'm just waiting for him to be charged for his unprovoked attack on Robbie Paul.
It's fair to say the Hunter became the Hunted and is still not fit enough to play.
Surely a sine die ban RFL?
Also, I'll kick off the collection to pay Menzie's fine with a fiver. Anyone else?
