| just got back from the match without a doubt Sheffield turned out to be yet another dirty Yorkshire team ,I'm surprised because I thought they had more about them than that ,one bloke sent off early for deliberately kicking a Leigh player took McNally out two or three times before finally laying Him out completely, in which looked very serious for Gregg, the ex thug Senior spent more time on the field than some of the Sheffield players, what's Astons excuse going to be for this performance ,when McNally was receiving attention for a very long time Senior found time to laugh and joke with the player who had done the dirty deed, really I've always had time for your team and wished them well but after today all respect has gone and I hope you don't reach the top four

| Our game ended after 3minutes with astons sending off I hope for his sake that he still does not live at home i guess his dad would not be in the best of moods tonight !!! Sending Offs are so crucial in Rugby League you knew that we had no chance of winning I guess a 40 point beating is not too bad considering although our points difference cushion has now gone

| Can't wait to see what logic Angelic Cynic will use to blame the dirty play by Sheffield on Leigh today

| Quote: Angelic Cynic "I'll let you know nearer the time.Lots of hard work to be done over the next few days.( Very surprised at lack of ad hominems directed at me - Must try harder! )
I was astonished, amazed, gastedflabbered at the quotes of The next head coach for England - as espoused by Yorkshireman Garry Schofield;certainly a Yorkshire bias there,me thinks -
where he mentioned that his players rlHad To Go To War!rl
I had seen some coaches say - war of attrition - battle - fight, etc but never use such inflammatory terms.
I couldn't work it out.
Then I got it.Due to the inferiority complex Leigh have for all things Wigan - especially Wigan Warriors - and The next head coach for England visiting the coaching team at WW when they dual-reg'd.I realized it was a quote from the author of a book where Wigan is on the title.
The Road To Wigan Pier.George Orwell.
[iSerious sport has nothing to do with fair play. It is bound up with hatred, jealousy, boastfulness, disregard of all rules and sadistic pleasure in witnessing violence. In other words, it is war minus the shooting[/i
It may explain the mindset of The next head coach for England - the great man-manager who appears to have managed Hock to get more cards in a couple of months than he got in a couple of years elsewhere.
If it is to be war unlike the Labour MP for Leigh,Andy Burnham,I have an exit strategy. (Iraq War - not his 2 homes in London )
In the best selling book - Matthew
Have you ever sought professional help ?

Sheffield Succumb To Centurions - wp.me/p3JxPK-ya
Well if the challenge wasn't big enough at the beginning, things got a whole lot bigger three minutes in. Cory Aston isn't a malicious player, never has been and never will be, he will learn from today and that's the bottom line. I send my best wishes to Gregg McNally who is in hospital at the moment. All the speculation about Sheffield players laughing at the expense of McNally has been thrown out of the water after Mitch Stringer put on the Eagles supporters page that the players were reacting to a few jibes from the North Stand. I'd be sick to my stomach if any player laughed at the expense of an injured player, no matter what team said player plies his trade for.
I thought we got stuck in with their forwards and it gave me hope we can go and face teams like Featherstone and Halifax and get the better of them when we have a full complement of players on the field. Dave Petersen was my MoM today, may not have been many choices for that but I hope Bradford keep winning because it'd be a pleasure for him to stay in an Eagles shirt. Still, two wins for a place in the top four. We go again in a week's time!

| Quote: Angelic Cynic "There I was minding my own business, like a good boy should, when I happened across the Batley forum and I thought I would see if their fans had calmed down yet after watching Leigh Centurions on Sunday.
I decided to plagiarise thisLeigh players have been cited 28 times this year.
All the other teams combined have had players cited 52 times.
24 of these 52 times have been against Leigh.
So if you remove the games V Leigh, all the other teams COMBINED are as dirty as Leigh with 28 referrals.[/i
It's not my question, and I haven't checked it,but I never thought the officials ever bothered looking in the direction of Leigh.I am surprised.
A few years ago Leigh Life showed a supporters meeting at the LSV and the previous board were in attendance.Trevor Barton and the solicitor who was the chairman.
The local MP turned up late.( This may have been the second meeting )
It was stated that Millward had been brought in as head coach with one of his aims being to reduce the players salary from the outgoings.
To the credit of Millward,a fans favourite during his time at Leigh but not so popular in Super League with Castleford,he developed to Super League standard both Chris Hill and Ellis, with Hill also representing his country.
While Millward had the financial constraints he was able to improve players whereas the next England head coach has been able to buy players straight from Super League clubs, the last 4 being Hock,Higham,Pala and Hopkins yet despite the next England head coach being in position seemingly longer than Millward the players at Leigh do not seem to be progressing as they were under the previous regime.
The question is - Have any players improved up to Super League/International standard or are they just at Leigh as they can pay more than some Super League clubs and they are just prepared to be like Super League fans and accept mediocrity in contrast to the NRL,or success relative to an apparently sub-standard competition?
Or,as an easier question - Has the next England head coach developed the players as much as he should bearing in mind how far they had progressed in the sport prior to arriving at Leigh?
Should I expect a decent display from Leigh, this time?'"
I was wondering who this Angelic Cynic character was...
There must be a person behind the moronic warblings of a mad man I thought...
Then it hit me...
He's David Icke isn't he !
He will be banging on about track suits & calling the Queen a Lizard soon...

| Was there any legitimate reason for an area of the field that should have been used for the warming-up by Sheffield Eagles players to be taped off? When it was finally removed by one of the coaching staff a groundsman entered the area to replace the tape and then after a few more minutes the tape was removed completely by the groundstaff.
No such area was taped off at the end of the ground where Leigh warmed up.
The youngest, slightest built player was sent from the field after winning a tackle which forced the knock-on to win his side the scrum.I did not see the offence which apparently was deserving of the red card.I expect that he has had an exemplary disciplinary record from the Under 8's and beyond, until today.
It was McNally who lay on the ground while Young Cory Aston was dismissed but he appeared to have made a full recovery shortly afterwards.
During the second half he appeared to have sustained a shoulder injury.
While Aston walked from the field Brierley 'sledged' him sufficiently to make up for the absence of McNally.
The injury sustained by McNally which led to him being stretchered from the field was where there was an overlap and our centre committed to the tackle as the ball went to the winger to score the try.The game had been lost in the first 5 minutes despite the great effort from the 12 men and it appeared to me that the tackle was late.
The Sheffield players and supporters applauded McNally from the field of play.Had the injury occurred in the first 5 minutes would it have been deemed disrespectful to keep warmed up and passing a ball about? It was very good of Keith Senior to try and keep the centre upbeat as obviously he would feel uneasy about a late challenge causing an injury to another professional.
Sadly, the objectionable home crowd only managed to up the crescendo into a joyous roar, rise as one in the seats and cheer gloriously as the smiling Hock walked from the field when he had deliberately attempted to injure another professional by punching him.
Sadly,it was left to the director of rugby to drag the next head coach of England from the official on the sidelines when McNally lay on the turf being attended to by medical staff.
You struggled to beat 12 men as the Yorkshire conspiracy has now come to a temporary end.Another club that doesn't like you face you next week, and it seems as though other Lancashire clubs will face you in the Middle 8's.
I hope McNally makes a full and speedy recovery and retains his place in the side to play Warrington next week.

| Leigh fan here. I was stood close to your players as we waited for McNally to receive treatment; the smiles and laughter were in response to Leigh fans shouting their disgust (quite rightly too IMO) rather than anything to do with McNally's situation. Sounds like the lad will be okay, thanks. The players let you down today I'm afraid but good luck with rest of season

We nearly racked up 60 points. Wasn't much of a struggle
Aston sent off, Smeaton KO'd McNally late, high and off the ball and Taluapapa punching Hock in the back of the head. Kind of makes a mess of your 'dirty Leigh' theory doesn't it.
Still, nice to know at least one Sheffield fan went today, I didn't see or hear a single one. Embarrassing support, or lack of!
