It's natural you would want to defend him - he's one of your players and (some) Leigh fans are miffed because he's now been banned as a result video evidence that was not dealt with by the ref at the time. A decision which may well have changed the course of the game.

I believe the tackle was dangerous as I believed the tackle of Heppy was - got got banned for both.
He's an aggressive player with an attrocious technique and who is generally very clumsy. Unless he changes his technique or it is coached out of him - there is a distanct possibility that someone will get hurt by him and an almost certainty that he will see more of the disciplinary panel!
Get him on a pay as you play deal:- that'll smarten him up!!

You might find yourself paying to NOT watch him play more often = increasing pressures on the team = poorer results etc etc etc!
If he just did the hard bone crunching stuff - fine. I'd live with that.
BUT - "IF" he does injure someone.......

I think its just the case that a couple of incidents have happened close together and mountains being made out of molehills,Now people questioning his technique when its not really been in question before,If one of the incidents was at the start of the season and the other at the end,Nothing would have been said really,There are far dirtier players in the game who actually maliciously go out to hurt or inflict injury on other players on purpose.

This is exactly it, he's made two dangerous tackles in a small space of time so there is a lot of attention surrounding him. Before these incidents he had been banned once in two seasons. Yes he has a suspect tackling technique but I don't believe he goes into any tackle with the intention of injuring someone.

I don't doubt that - that's why I said IMO he was 'clumsy' as opposed to deliberately dirty.

I'm not yelling from the rooftops "ban him for life" like some would. It's a hard game - mistakes, - genuine mistakes happen. People genuinely mis-time tackles, go high when that wasn't the intention, instinctively put an arm out to stop someone who is almost past them and in doing so flatten them etc

When 2 "mistakes" do happen so close together it will prompt people to review his technique within those games - not the ones months before.

RFF,If i see Menzie Sunday,I will tell him that you are willing to let him practice a new style of tackling technique on yourself,I cant guarantee it will only take one attempt though
