| Naughty, naughty Frank!! The Fev game is now deemed meaningless (teehee) as the English lead the French 3-0 in the Anglo French Farce/Challenge......

Ah, but don't forget that Fev are playing the champions.....who aren't actually the champions! And the winners get this dazzling piece of silverware (wish I was kidding);

The Fev game is the 'champions' game - they decided it based on Pia finishing top of the league before they cocked it up in the play offs. Not that we're bothered either way unless there's extra prize money available!

I too would have gone for a point for a win, nothing for a draw or defeat.
But - hey - the RFL have gone for a 2-1-0 format so we're winning 6-0 !!

| Am I the first to return alive?
Game was a bit of a damp squib, to say they were the French champs they were terrible really. We never got out of first gear and I reckon if we'd played to our potential we'd have won by at least 70. Apparently they had 3 aussies missing but we had a couple of youngsters making their debut so i'm not buying that argument.
Speaking of the young lads - the number 13 (Lee Sanders?) played really well for the first 30 then got a bad whack to the eye and had to go off. He came back on with about 10 to go looking like a pirate and got sin binned! Definitely one to watch for the future though. Another lad (Nathan Walmsley?!) only got about 10 minutes and all I could focus on was his peroxide white hair.
After the game I got to see the players close up at a function thing - Scott Turner looks mean, wouldn't want to bump into him in a well lit alley, never mind a dark one! Slapped Misi on the shoulder and nearly broke my hand. Simon Brown believes he's the best dancer in Leeds.
More grapevines need to be planted in France - apparently stock levels of the alcoholic grape juice they sell are running low after this weekend.
The town of Carcassonne itself is a bit sleepy - the old town/fortifications are stunning though. Got some brilliant shots which I can whack on here if people want. The town also has one taxi.
Hello and thank you to Sanjunien for all the empheria he handed me, never spotted you after the game so I never got a chance to 'buy' you a beer!
A slightly quiet journey home - only 15 passengers on the plane! Fair play to Ryanair for actually running the thing and not just cancelling it like Easyjet do.
A great trip - bring on the next one (my liver doesn't share the same sentiments)

| Great trip and would go again next year but the competition is ultimately pointless.
Highlights were HL's broken French to some un-suspecting Halifax fans and me beating the Irish landlord at darts for a pint in the Celt pub.
The sentiments of HL's liver are also reflected by my own.

| HL's Franglais fun with the fax fan (Steve) was a classic especially because he'd been speaking to him the night before.
I'm looking forward to dude's Tom Daley imperssion.
The lowlight apart from the flight delay was you soaking my legs in the bog in the ground when you pressed that button,

| Absolutely brilliant weekend despite the flight delay (I'd just said to Neil "at least I won't have to spend 8 hours in the airport like I did going to Perpignan", when the announcement was made - that'll teach me!) Interesting pricing policy in the taxis over there. 6 euros from our hotel to Chez Felix, about a 10 minute walk for me - and the same from Chez Felix to Stade Domec, probably two and a half times further! Nice touch by the landlord of Chez Felix to provide us all with a pint (or was it a litre) of Grimbergen before Saturday's game. Very nice with a massive lemon wedge. Honourable mentions to the landlady of the Celt for tuning into the Featherstone match on Sunday afternoon. Oh yes, and there was the small matter of the Eagles game. I thought it was a solid performance from our boys, given there were some changes to the team and some younger lads in there. It was always going to be a game of unknown quantaties and we handled it well I thought.
Then on Sunday, a trip to the old City was well worth it, to add a bit of culture to procedings. I could've spent all day and a lot of money in there. So, to sum up, the highlights; Chez Felix and the Celt for their hospitality and also the Carcassonne supporters and ground staff for the same, and Le Cite for the culture. Lowlights ; the 8 hour delay coming home and my dicky tummy on Saturday which came too close for comfort to stopping me going to ther natch. Maybe the large slice of Quiche Lorraine after 6 pints of Kilkenny the night before wasn't such a good idea!!
