Quote: Airborne Eagle "Allegedly the match commissioner and referee had valuables nicked from their dressing room.'"

Yes, unfortunately that did happen.

Was a strange game, i did get a try scorer wrong, Q and Misi do look a bit alike from a distance and the announcer said Misi (i think). Was our third trip and by the players and staffs own admission it was our worst performance out there, but score-wise the best result weve had. Funny old game.

I think that we did raise our game when we needed to and the win is the important thing. Hendo was outstanding (again) and Sam Scott showed up well on only his second game. But its the sign of a great team to win ugly.

Thought the sin-binning was six and two threes personally, saw it and under the strict rules it is ten minutes. But that same incident goes on all the time and very rarely gets pulled let alone a player binned, i suppose it depends on the refs view and interpretation.

Indeed a thanks to the players and staff for socialising with us and the staff at the melting pot as always for putting up with all us lot all weekend. Great craic all weekend especially from the head stewardess on the return flight, who was a great laugh. I decided to sit at the very back on the flight home as i was feeling a bit eusa_sick.gif , bumpiest flight ever.

To answer the above point, Tony got home the same way we did, just quite a bit slower, doing his best Monty Python impression.

If Toulouse are not in NL1 next year (as go the rumours) then itll be a shame. LW says the attendance was 1200, if thats true then im the Pope.

I would say no more than 700 - seems to be getting less each year. After the game I was talking to the chap (and his wife) who did the very good match report in RLW. He called one of the Toulouse players over and in very bad Franglais but perfect Anglo Saxon the player said what he thought of the referee's performance. Apparantly they had a bad experience with the same vs Barrow the week before

Yes hats off to Linda the cabin manager, a real good sense of humour. She was from Wigan!
She told Menzie off for stealing some ice with his fingers and then 5 mins later he was helping her down the aisle with the trolley.

Menzie sat on me at one point. There's now a permanent imprint of my passport shape on my leg.

Honourable mention as well to the french/german flight steward who kept fluffing his lines during the safety briefing. Hillarious. I think he was about ready to finish for the day early. I hope Mrs Badvibes enjoys the nice large white I've brought her back.

hi again Airborne Eagle - nice meeting you and the other lads post match and thanks for the compliment for my article - I hope it was a fair reflection of the game - I try to be unbiased and fair, which isn't always easy... I don't receive a copy so I can't say what was included or edited out.
Look forward to seeing you all again next season if TO13 are still in the Championship.

the try scorer on half time was actually announced as Alex Rowe - it didn't seem right to me so I asked Q after who confirmed that it was in fact he that scored,a fact later confirmed by Rory Bromley who insists he was tackled in the air by Q who then touched down.

Don't know if TO13 will be in the Championship next year, that's in the hands of the RFL - but the BOD at Toulouse isn't very confident.

regarding the attendance - the 'official' attendance was stated as 1200 and we were told to quote that figure but the real attendance was about 650 IMO

as you say,a good post match craic and well done to all the Eagles fans who made the trip - you lot are a credit to the club and to RL eusa_clap.gif

Good to meet you too.

It was a very well written report, unbiased as you say.

For me Toulouse add to the competitions interest, if only the results and attendances were better it would be certainty. I can only assume its the costs of sending ten teams out to France a year and sending Toulouse over to England ten times a year. Air fares and petrol prices have shot up recently and it all adds up.

Thank you to all and i wish you well for the future if its in NL1 or not. Ill be wearing my new TO13 polo at bowling tonight.

Fuel prices must be a big worry, I agree though that it adds interest.

As we discussed if there was only a way that a visit to Toulouse could be combined with a Perpignan trip in the same weekend. The infrastructure is there in terms of transport and hotels etc.

FYI - Toulouse pay their own flights & expenses up to the uk and still only receive the same from the RFL as the others. The cost for the RFL is the travel arrangements for the other teams coming down to Toulouse.Flights are booked early doors so they all get the lowest rates, the same with the hotels etc
The problems at TO13 are complex - if you look on www.sang-et-or.net you will see by the match reports etc a little of what's happening at the club.
Happy bowling !

Cracking result really,Away in France with 3 key players (Wood,Cording & Crookes missing)add to that Mcdonald,Mills,Nice two week break til Widnes away,A massive game and a game that should show how far we have progressed,Need a win and that would really give confidence of a top four finish,Would be nice to beat a top side,Couple of signings would be nice and then the dual reg players wouldnt be as vital,Hopfully Bergin keeps his shirt as Mills kept is when he perfomed and scored,6 wins out of 6 against Tolouse,Could be undefeated if rumour is they wont be here next year,Hope they are though.
