complete and utter sh*te today ,if any one can tell me what the game plan was for today i would gratefull because from what i saw there wasn't one but thats what we'll get from mr aston( we didn't stick to the game plan ). now apart from a few good performances like jamies try and menzies tackle on hunter there was nothing of note , and how can any say that dane is a stand off( apart from aston who must think the sun shines out of his a*se )must be watching a different game because no one else does . leigh today showed how to play basic , simple rugby where as we could do nothing right we couldn't pass the ball we couldn't tackle and we showed no spirit what so ever . i don't think we will get to the quarter finals on this performance and i think hunslet and leeds met will fancy their chances against us . something needs to change and soon or we will lose more supporters and all that will be left are the hard core supporters that have been there through think and thin .

I was disappointed with Eagles today. In defence, you were missing both half backs and two vital overseas' players, plus maybe Szostak. (?) Reading the programme notes about Eagles, one thing struck me immediately - the guys who made most appearances last season, are gone. That's a lot of key players/experience to offload in one go!

However, I thought there would have been more spirit displayed.

Mind you, it's a funny game - at this stage last season, we beat Featherstone 36-6 and look what happened after that! No doubt we will see a different Eagles side, when we meet up in the Championship.

By the way, Robbie was concussed trying to tackle Menzie Yere head on! Apparently he came around and went to hospital, purely as a precaution.

Let's not try and skirt around it, it was a truly awful showing and everybody knows that. What I want to know is why against one of the favourites for the title, in a competition we are "taking seriously" we played a starting 13 that is not even close to the 13 that will start the league season? I think what's happened is that we've put out the 13 players who were most in need of match practice for fitness purposes only with no intention of actually winning the match. I feel like I've had my intelligence insulted. If someone tells me that that was out league starting 13 then our problems are a lot worse than everyone thought.

The tackling was abysmal, the line speed and movement was appalling and the general attitude of the team today was not worthy of comment.

One of the topics of discussion in my car on the way home was "have we ever had a worse half-back than Dane McDonald?" and on the basis of the last year (never mind today) the answer is a resounding no.

It's not so much that - with Misis and Quentin being still out of the country, the last thing we needed was for Simon and Kyle to get injured in the first two games.

Its everybodys fault singling players out is wrong, tubbs should be held accountable as well for team selections. Our off season player turn over is telling greatly, alot of experience and talent left. A lot of young players got thrown in straight into the deep end, unfortunately we found out they werent ready. Still a long way to go in the season. " finals arent won in febuary"

Maybe 5. Injuries aside it's not an excuse for such a poor surrender.

Once Misi returns, assuming he ever does, I'd like to see Jamie Cottle get a chance on the wing. I like the look of this lad, he was a class act at reserve level for three years and deserves a chance to impress.

Yere didnt tackle Robbie , it was the other way round, Robbie was hurt making the tackle,didnt see Bergin wag his fingers all through match,didnt see him do anything ,must be having nightmares about Mcgilvary , though,Dean had him in his pocket all through the Match.
