I'm not questioning your credibility but that surely can't be correct, why would Halifax have the right to home advantage when they finished the regular season with a worse record than us? Last season we finished 6th, beat Leigh away who were third then had to play Barrow AWAY in the next round. So unless the rules have changed I'd expect us to be at home if us and Halifax got through.

It might all be irrelevant anyway...

The club's opinion is at odds with the RFL Official Guide, at B3.15 which states, inter alia, that the higher placed club has choice of ground.

Unless we're choosing to play at Halifax, obviously ......

The misunderstaning arose during a 'phone call between Simon and the RFL, he has aked me to pass this on from his contact there.


"Please see attached. The * and the note at the bottom of the page is in line with B3:15 so you will get home advantage should you win and should Halifax win. This note was missing from the hard copy I was looking at when we spoke so it was my mistake entirely. Sorry for any inconvenience caused."

Therefore wins for the Eagles and Halifax will see a home tie for the Eagles, hope this clarifies the situation.
