Couldn't agree more. Seems we will be playing catch up again.

It was a wet surface on a gluepot of a pitch.
Dewsbury had a number of pre-season games but were only ahead by a missed conversion from our side,a drop goal/field goal, before their last minute try.
If I had to complain it would be NOT playing a prop at loose when it is obviously going to be a forwards battle and then, after our 2nd try from a kick when it was obvious Pryce has the speed and turning circle of a listing super tanker in a storm, why more kicks weren't placed near or around him.
Disappointing, but we will greatly improve when the pitches dry and firm - and touch judges get involved when they see players being punched.

| I forgot we dont like the mud remember last year at this time of year we had that shock defeat to Barrow in similar conditions however in previous years it did not really matter as it was all about your form at the end of the season however this year it is different we have less games to play and the difference between finishing 4th and 5th is vast we can not afford to have a slow start again

Who would have been the prop you'd've played at loose ? We were obviously a bit light in the forwards availability department - three injured, one suspended.

Poor start to the season. Didn't have much of a sniff in the latter stages of the game, their forwards were strolling over the advantage line which, in turn, made our discipline worse. However, I was impressed with our starting props Battye and Thorpe, both had solid games. Got to get back on track next week or we will definitely be playing a game of catch-up.

Your post actually reminded me that John Davies,Mitch Stringer and Jamie Langley were injured.
As I think young players sometimes benefit from playing away - a tad less pressure - Connor Scott, may have been an option,or TT or Ben Musolino and have others on the interchange.
All academic now,of course, but lots of other clubs now seem to set up that way.
It may just be a passing phase but I have seen 2 good performances from opposition players with long hair; Farrell for Dewsbury - MoM last night - and that young player at Doncaster. Not often that forwards get voted MoM.
I am just please London sold Atelea Vea to Saints before next week.

| Looking on the bright side after the defeat, the prop forwards we have in the squad are of a high standard IMO. You've got the experience in Tonka, Stringer and Thorpe (to a certain extent at a very respectable level). Then the youth with Battye, Blagbrough, Scott. And the wildcard in Tagaloa who was coming into form at the backend of last season before getting injured.

May also be the fact that in the 3 other games, involving Super League clubs, they, the 3 away clubs, like ourselves, failed to register any points in the second half.
Huddersfield,Widnes and Warrington.
Coincidence,or an omen?

Connor Scott's suspended. The other two were on the bench. They could have started but that would just have weakened the bench.
You can only play with what's available.
