Write for a few rugby league websites, mainly about the Kingstone Press Championship.
Usually found in Sunderland, sometimes in Sheffield.

| Well the Wildcats went past Halifax without much problem, but I'm hoping we can keep the tempo going from the last fortnight and sign off our Qualifiers campaign with a victory. It's no less than the lads deserve. Preview will probably be up midweek, it's my first week of lectures so I can't really accurately predict many things (bit like the Eagles results really!!).

| Not only is this game uber-important for the reasons outlined in the 'Million Pound' thread I found myself reading the piece from the
crypto-chairman of the Derek Beaumont fan club,a qualified journalist with the audacity to take a salary, and as our good friend Griff so rightly
posted, with the prescience of Mark Aston back in May and his 'Leigh - starting to crack' statement - there is money in finishing high in The Qualifiers.
[iIn the meantime, Leigh must make sure they now finish sixth, pip Halifax and secure the spoils of a £300,000 pot needed next year to see dreams turn to reality[/i.
rlRead It 'n' Weeprl
I take it the qualified journalist doesn't think we can finish higher.
Prescient,he aint.

| I keep reading articles about Leigh want to "return" to the super league - I know I'm getting on abit but I can't actually remember Leigh ever being in the super league?

| No wonder I could remember they went up in 2004 and came down again in 2005 so you couldn't really call them a super league team could you?

| Derek 'Don't Mess With Leigh' Beaumont was involved then - it was one of those boom before bust years - money and sponsorship
wasn't in short supply rlStoryrl
Perhaps the relegation was part of a meticulous,x number of years, plan.
I'm guessing Wakefield may be putting all their eggs into the Million Pounds Game basket and may NOT be too bothered about the game being played at Belle Vue.( I haven't checked the points difference.)
We may be playing against the exuberance of youth.
Jon Molloy wasn't in the squad that defeated Halifax.

Good Point looking at the standings Widnes have all but ensured their super league status so all to play for is home advantage If i was a wakefield fan i would not like to visit Bradford in front of a probable 10,000 crowd they will have a better chance of success if they beat us so I doubt they will play a weakened team

The capacity at Belle Vue is little over 6k and I would imagine the Bradford travelling support may make it a tight squeeze.
Brian Smith the head coach has a small squad to choose from - hampered by the inability to stay away from alcohol of one or two players.
Obviously I wouldn't dream of trying to second guess Brian Smith but a) Would he want to risk injury to key players?
b) Would he not prefer a game back at a club where he started some considerable success?
c) Play away so as to limit too much pressure put on the home players?
It don't bother me.I just want to be at Bramall Lane to see our players perform at their maximum, and put on the best team performance of 2015,and the club to ensure the best possible send off for those players leaving.
Oh,and to give a certain Mark Aston a wonderful birthday present.

| Plenty of on-street parking available on Sundays around the ground as there are no restrictions in place.

| Hope Eagles can beat Wakey as I can see a double benefit if we could beat Fax. I'm sure the extra prize money could be better used by a Yorkshire team. It's a big ask but take inspiration from us beating The Best Team in the Championship.

| Interestingly, but not in the least surprising, the head coach who revolutionized things at Hull FC and Bradford, took the time to come and see our last game.
[i I went to watch Sheffield play on Friday against Hull KR and they took them a long way into the match. They played as enthusiastically as any team who were chasing a big prize.[/i

Need a repeat with a different result.Nice if a hat trick scorer could be on the winning side this time.
