Finally a decent performance this season and a win too, down on fowards but thought 1,301 was a low attendance though considering the whole "hat trick" offer they gave out to people...

Something happened at half time which seemed to make the players believe in themselves.

Special mentions for Alex Rowe (hatrick), seemingly tireless performences from Trevor E, Alex S and Ryan H - I say seemingly because they we obviously knackered when they were interchanged as they had given all.

But unfair to single any individual out in a great team performance.

Surprised at Haven fans chanting sack the board, they didn't look that bad.

The Platinum Suite is a millions times better than anything that DVS can offer.
The south stand is nearly as cold though icon_biggrin.gif

A brilliant second half performance from the lads today. Well worth the 4 hour journey from Edinburgh. icon_biggrin.gif At half time it looked like a game between two tired sides, but whatever was said at half time certainly worked. The Alexs both had stormers and the interpassing was like watching a Superleague side (although not Hull KR or Saford.) icon_surprised.gif More of the same against Batley please. icon_lol.gif

Must agree with the above, excellent second half team performance. Some of the passing and offloads were sublime.

Don't agree about Haven though Airborne, I thought especially the second half they were awful. Some of the tries thy conceded to us were criminal defending. But very well done to our boys for punishing them to the fullest.

I heard the sack the board stuff they were singing. Just funny they only sang it after the game rather than when anyone was listening. They need hints on mass protesting from the owls fans.

Must push on with the season now, starting with Batley.

The main difference for me in this game from the rest of the season, particularly in the second half, we seemed to play with a sense of freedom. Throwing the ball around, trying offloads, and it came off. Our penultimate try was one of the best team tries I've ever seen the Eagles score, absolutely sublime.

The 2nd half was awesome,Hepworth put a great shift in,Also as usual Szostak played his normal game, interesting thing is a Bramall Lane as your closer to the pitch you can actually appreciate what he does for the team,At the Don Valley you could rarely tell who was who in the forwards unless pitchside,Alex Rowe awesome bustling runs,The play for the last three tries was the best of the season,Aron Groom was buzzing constantly and looks real quality,if he stays fit i believe with the players around him ie Menzie,Tangi,Mills,Thackeray,Lindsey we can possibly win the rail cup or the league play-offs,up the Eagles!!!

Spot on.

The closeness to the action makes you appreciate what the unsung heroes do for the side.

The game is about the 17

Good performance and about time too. Even though the crowd was a come down from our two other lane games it certainly felt better than at don valley stadium.

Excellent Stuff! Spent most of the last 10 minutes standing, with all the tries we were scoring!
I think Dane is worth a mention - he put in some good tackles at loose forward - perhaps the pressure is off him a bit with having Aaron & Brendon at half backs. Makes for a decent combination with the added bonus of Matty, who can interchange with Cooky & Groom at Hooker & Scrum Half.
Although 1300 seems low, we're now star5ting to find our singing voices - I got some kids behind me singing the Sheffield Eagles (Ron Pickering's We are the Champions) tune. It's a start anyway.

Dane is better at 13 but still distinctly average in my opinion, I could pick the dummies he was throwing and I was 50 yards away.

i agree about the view and the atmosphere it was always going to take a while but i think we are finding our feet so to speak and hopefully we will start to get a bit more interest in the club.
