Featherstone dont deserve to be league winners but they will, Hunslet need the points desperately but Featherstone should win by 12 points plus on Sunday so Mark Aston please give up on the Championship shield we had our chance but the stupid rules have conspired against us. Please play the academy team against Doncaster, the players have played brilliantly this season but are looking tired so please rest them now so they can come back fully recharged for the playoffs

I forget when it was, 2 or 3 years ago I think but didn't you get 6 or 7 one year and therefore finish a few places higher than you "deserved" to. Everyone plays by the same rules, swings and roundabouts. If you'd have gotten the bonus point today would you have made this thread? Unlikely.

We all play by the same rules well done to fev fully deserved it tonight IMO we played for the bonus point in the second half so fairs fair I'm no great fan of the bonus point but we all knew the rules at the start of the season.We move on

Overall it's been a great year thats not over yet if we beat donny sunday we'll go into the playoffs with a confidence boost

Just annoyed it has been a superb season and winning the Champions shield would have have been a fantastic achievement for our club considering our resources and fan base and the 25K would have been most welcome !! With Superleague 2 starting in 2015 things will be a lot tougher next season with the full time sides Fax Leigh and Fstone no doubt strengthening their sides and us being homeless !!! However just looked at the table and fixtures we will probably be at home to Halifax in the 1st round of the playoffs which is good news much rather play Halifax than Leigh

Apparently Fev are going full time next year. Not aware of any plans by Leigh or Fax to do it though.

We only have ourselves to blame for losing it all last night. We didn't put anywhere near enough pressure on the Fev half backs Finn & Cain. We didn't show any urgency to pressure their kicking game and sadly that dogger decision from the ref to not rule the knock on in the dieing seconds was the final nail in the coffin. On a brighter note, to get back to 34-24 and within seconds of the BP was a superb effort from the boys when you consider that the only decent possession that we had in the 2nd half resulted in those 2 tries.
Onto Donny & the play-offs.

I'd have been gutted if that "knock on" had been given against us. Didn't go forward for me. At worst, it went straight down. Maybe look to earlier in the game if you're looking for points where the game was lost ?

The bonus point is there to promote closer games. Why would you offer a point to make the margins wider?

It's all about rewarding teams for doing what you want them to do. Not symmetry.

Incidentally, I never hear anyone moan that there are sometimes three points awarded in soccer games, sometimes two. We RL fans just look too hard at things sometimes.
