I think most of us have been expecting news of the club being in a bad place financially for most of the season. Going full time for me was never an option until we had our own ground. Also Sheffield is not and probably never will embrace Rugby in either code. The new ground was just a figment of Richard Caborn's imagination which again many of us worked out months ago.
Will we still be around next seasons, part time and in Champioship 1?

There certainly is.With Mark Aston now the CEO,again, the situation seems to have changed from extinction to salvation.
[iSheffield Eagles can confirm John Whaling left his role as CEO at the club with immediate effect last week. The club would like to place on record it’s thanks to John during what has been a very difficult year.
During the interim period, Mark Aston will resume the role as CEO which he previously undertook until the beginning of 2015. Along with Mark, Chris Noble MBE and Ian Anniss remain in place as directors of the club and Liam Claffey will continue with the day-today running of the club as General Manager.
The club can confirm we are exploring various options for a 2017 venue, away from the Olympic Legacy Park. We are told the pitch and surroundings will still be installed by March 2017, however seating and other facilities would need to then be installed to meet RFL minimum requirements meaning playing at the OLP for the majority of the 2017 season will not be possible.
Talks have continued this week with the potential new sponsor of the club. Talks were positive and the club are hopeful an agreement can be reached shortly. We thank the players and staff for their handling of the current situation and those supporters who have remained patient during this difficult time and assisted the club financially through the fundraising efforts on gofundme.com.
The club remains in constant dialogue with Sheffield City Council, The RFL & Olympic Legacy Park Ltd and thank them for their continued assistance.[/i
