I may be saying something that's already been looked into but what about Handsworth Football club,They have there own ground on olivers mount,Very basic but it is a ground (Not like St Marys),Has it's own clubhouse,Very small stand,Nowere near the 500 limit,Just wondering if it has been looked into,As it stands it wouldn't be upto scratch,But would only need a temporary seating off 500 and theres plenty off places to stand close to the pitch,If the council is willing to help then that is the only stumbling block,Decent location near to the Don Valley ground,Im sure Handsworth arnt a very rich club and the council in building a stand would be doing both teams a favour and im sure Handsworth would also appreciate another income stream in the Eagles playing there,Just a thought.
I have just looked on their website the petition only has 18 signatures !! Hopefully they can find a way to keep the DVS open but i cant see how they could generate income to pay the running costs and it is looking a little bit run down and will need refurbish work which will cost money
Quote: Hillsborough Lad "There's a group appealing to keep DVS open and run it independently. I believe the outcome will be revealed on September 26.'"
