Any win at Batley is a good win,conditions horrendous,Thought it could have been more comfortable but who cares really,couple of the unsung heroes had good games,Peter Green and Alex Szostak,Also proves we can tough it out and play in the rain,Grand final and todays shows that,Getting a bit worrying,QLT & Menzie havn't scored in last two games,There rubbish

One of the best performances of the season IMO. Was closer than it should have been, had a lot of field position in the first half going up the hill, also out scored them by 3 tries to 1.

Loved Pat Walker's try, proper opportunistic. That drop goal looked to go straight between the sticks from where I was too.

I was at a wine and cheese fund raising event so had to try and follow it on Twitter, not easy when you have had a few, plus a few more everytime Eagles scored, so quite well oiled by 21.45

. Terrific win.

really enjoyed that tonight great win when batley went for 2 that was it for me it screamed we can't break you down first half was really impressive going up the hill.

I also thought that drop goal went between the sticks from where i was stood but oh well another great win superb display from the lads

Even the Batley fans sitting near me said "that went through that did" - but he was positive the ref was on our side throughout the match!

Ref can go to the video ref for drop goals but chose not to. He didn't look very sure either way, did he ? We're going to have to put nets on the posts or summat.

What were those lunatics shouting "cheat" about at the end of the game ? I didn't see anything particularly controversial in the game.

You were worthy winners and it will take a good side to get close to you lot this season. It was a very vocal minority shouting to the ref, who made no difference at all to the result.
You are right about the drop goal too!

I said on your forum, DD, that I thought kicking that penalty was a negative decision. Left you needing a converted try for a draw, admittedly, but you still needed two scores to win and it cut the risk of losing the bonus point.

I was also surprised when they opted to kick the two. It was a penalty on the last tackle right on our try line, I'm sure our lads breathed a huge sigh of relief when you pointed to the sticks. A 6 point lead in the last ten minutes is a dangerous one, but it's also a nice cushion to have as it means all you need is a drop goal to effectively kill off the game. Which ironically, we kicked!

Or - apparently - not.



Language in the box next to you when that penalty got awarded on the last was disgusting.
